Are You Secretly A Narcissist Without Knowing It? How To Find Out | Perrin Elisha

[ad_1] By very definition, if you are asking this question you are self-reflective in a way that someone with Narcissistic Personality Disorder is likely not. However, the story isn’t that simple. First off, we’re all narcissistic, so the secret is to learn how to be happy with yourself anyway. And second, that’s healthy! What do I mean? Well, we all need a solid sense of ourselves, confidence, a sense of our talents and capacities, and the courage to try new things, all of which come from a healthy narcissistic development. Our narcissistic development powerfully impacts how we feel in relationships — whether we feel safe, loveable, able to handle conflict, and especially whether we have good boundaries.  Psychologists talk about a “narcissistic line of development,” which is a fancy way of saying that we all start off feeling, necessarily so, that we are the center of the world (by the way, this is to compensate for how terrifying it is to be a little child and depend so entirely on the adults in our life …

Saudi court ‘secretly’ hands 11-year sentence to women’s rights activist

[ad_1] A Saudi court has recently sentenced women’s rights activist Manahel al-Otaibi to 11 years in prison in a “secret hearing”, according to two human rights groups who denounced the ruling as contradictory to the kingdom’s “narrative of reform and women’s empowerment”.   Over the past few years, Saudi Arabia has carefully crafted an image of an open, transformed and glamorous society where women can now drive, female dress codes have been relaxed and the government has invested hugely in sports and entertainment.  But over the last two years the government has convicted and sentenced dozens of people for expressing their views against the authorities online, according to a statement published Tuesday by human rights groups. In the statement, Amnesty International and ALQST, a London-based Saudi rights organisation, called for the immediate and unconditional release of Manahel al-Otaibi, a 29-year-old fitness instructor and women’s rights activist who was sentenced to 11 years in prison by a Saudi court on January 9.  The court’s decision only emerged publicly in Saudi Arabia’s formal reply to a request from the United Nations …

A large studio audience watches breathlessly as a man is led, blindfolded, into the middle of the stage. The man is 24-year-old comedian Tomoaki Hamatsu (nicknamed Nasubi), and for the past 15 months, millions have tuned into Denpa Shōnen’s Life of Prizes to watch him in total isolation, surviving purely off the food, clothing and appliances that he manages to win from mail-in magazine competitions. Unbeknown to him, Nasubi is a household name, and his torturous tenure on Japanese reality television has just come to a close. Twenty-five years on, Hulu’s new documentary, The Contestant, tells the true story of how Nasubi was essentially kidnapped and non-consensually broadcast, every week, to an audience greater than the Game of Thrones finale. British director Clair Titley’s documentary begins by explaining Nasubi’s name – it means “aubergine” in Japanese and was earned because of his extraordinary, Moai statue …

Two men who secretly photographed thousands of people, including children, getting changed at swimming pools given jail sentences | UK News

[ad_1] Two men who secretly photographed thousands of people getting changed at swimming pools have been handed jail sentences. Adam Dennis, 38, from Littlehampton, and Robert Morgan, 32, from London, photographed at least 6,000 people, including children, at pools across London and the South West of England. The two men were described as “insidious” by police after being sentenced to a combined total of 42 months in prison, at Inner London Crown Court, on 24 April. They will, however, spend a total of 11 months in prison, as one of the pair had their jail sentence suspended. Alongside photographing victims getting changed, they filmed members of public on the toilet and shared and traded the images in online forums. They even created profile documents for some of their victims, some of whom were children, and researched them on social media. Authorities became aware of the duo after an investigation into a separate assault, which happened on board a train in March 2017, led to a mobile being seized. Following this, they were both arrested for …

Bannon says House Republicans secretly want Trump to lose

Bannon says House Republicans secretly want Trump to lose

[ad_1] Steve Bannon, former President Trump’s 2016 campaign executive, railed against House Republicans on Monday, claiming that they “want MAGA to go away” and wish to see the former president lose his 2024 White House bid. “Why does [Rep. Jim] Jordan [R-Ohio] not have a criminal conspiracy investigation— from Fani Willis in Georgia to ‘Big Tish James’ in New York City?” Bannon asked on his “War Room” podcast.  “The Justice Department, why have they not been sent letters— ‘Preserve your documents.’ Why have hearings not gone on? Why have they not broken these things up? You know why. Because they don’t really have Trump’s back,” Bannon continued. The conservative pundit tore into House Judiciary Committee chairman, Jim Jordan, arguing that the Ohio Republican’s support of Trump has been entirely “performative.” “Don’t go on ‘Hannity’ and tell me everything you are gonna do and send some tweets,” Bannon quipped.   “Nothing’s happening to support President Trump. Let me repeat that. Nothing,” he concluded. Bannon’s comments come amid growing criticism of Republican leadership, with several lawmakers backing calls to …

North Koreans Secretly Animated Amazon and Max Shows, Researchers Say

North Koreans Secretly Animated Amazon and Max Shows, Researchers Say

[ad_1] Some file names gave away clues about the series and episode numbers. There were also files and projects the researchers could not identify—including a “bunch of files” with videos of horses and a Russian book on horses, Williams says. Sanctions placed upon the North Korean regime, for its ongoing human rights abuses and nuclear warfare programs, prohibit US companies from working with DPRK companies or individuals. However, the researchers say it is highly unlikely that any companies involved would have a clue about North Korean animators working on the shows, and there is nothing suggesting the companies violated any sanctions or other laws. “It is likely that the contracting arrangement was several steps downstream from the major producers,” the report says. Spokespeople for Amazon and Max spokesperson declined to comment for this story. YouNeek Studios did not respond to a request for comment. “We do not work with North Korean companies, or Chinese companies on Invincible, or any affiliated entities, and have no knowledge of any North Korean or Chinese companies working on Invincible,” …

Teacher Secretly Sold His Students’ Art on Mugs and Shirts, Lawsuit Says

[ad_1] In January, students at a junior high school outside Montreal received an assignment to draw a classmate or a self-portrait in the style of Jean-Michel Basquiat. “The challenge is to make an original artwork in Basquiat’s style; not to copy one of his images,” the teacher, Mario Perron, wrote to his students on the junior campus at Westwood High School in St.-Lazare, Quebec. “I am very familiar with Basquiat’s work and will return copied work, because it is considered plagiarism.” The assignment was titled “Creepy Portrait.” Basquiat was a worthy subject: He was the influential Brooklyn-born artist of Haitian and Puerto Rican descent who was known for a brief career in which he innovated with graffiti and other types of improvisational pieces. He died at 27 in 1988. But parents of some students who completed the assignment were shocked to find that Mr. Perron had copied the portraits and was offering mugs, cushions, bags, apparel and other items for sale online bearing reproductions of the artwork, according to a class-action lawsuit filed last week …
