SNL Mocks Trump, Biden’s Oval Office Meeting, With Alec Baldwin Cameo

SNL Mocks Trump, Biden’s Oval Office Meeting, With Alec Baldwin Cameo

Saturday Night Live didn’t waste any time on the latest episode, spoofing Donald Trump and Joe Biden‘s historic Oval Office meeting at the White House earlier this week. “Hello everybody. Thank you to the press for joining us to document this very important presidential transition meeting. I’m being serious right now. Even though we disagree, I’m eager to sit down for a respectful conversation,” Dana Carvey’s Biden says. “Yeah, get a load of me. Instead of being rude and crazy like usual, I’m doing quiet and serene, which in many ways is a lot scarier,” James Austin Johnson’s Trump adds before Biden continues, “I’m gonna sit here and smile while ignoring the giant fire right behind me.” Trump later complains about how he “forgot how boring [being] president is.” “I love running, hate being,” he continues. “And I hate the White House, so old, so dated. So many of the carpets are stinky and sticky at the same time. Sort of like being at a Regal Cinemas. Now I have to live here for the …

‘SNL’ Cast Attempts to Get on Trump’s Good Side After Election Results

The cast of Saturday Night Live kicked off their post-election show trying to get on Donald Trump‘s good side after he defeated Kamala Harris in the 2024 election earlier in the week. The cold open got underway with castmembers Bowen Yang, Heidi Gardner, Marcello Hernández, Ego Nwodim, Sarah Sherman, Kenan Thompson and Colin Jost speaking directly to the camera in a serious manner. “On Tuesday, Americans went to the polls and elected Donald Trump to be the next president of the United States,” Yang says as Nwodim continues, “To many people, including many people watching this show right now, the results were shocking and even horrifying.” “Donald Trump, who tried to forcibly overturn the results of the last election, was returned to office by an overwhelming majority,” Gardner says as Thompson adds, “This is the same Donald Trump who openly called for vengeance against his political enemies.” Yang and Nwodim continue, “Now thanks to the Supreme Court, there are no guard rails, nothing to protect the people who are brave enough to speak out against him.” …

Donald Trump and Kamala Harris Face Off on Family Feud

Donald Trump and Kamala Harris Face Off on Family Feud

Donald Trump may have refused to do a second debate with Kamala Harris, but Saturday Night Live had another idea for them to face off one more time before the election. Maya Rudolph’s Harris and James Austin Johnson’s Trump met once again on NBC’s sketch comedy show, only this time it was on the Family Feud stage with Kenan Thompson’s Steve Harvey. “I am Steve Harvey and I have spent the past 20 years hosting every show on TV as my alibi for them Diddy parties,” Harvey says. “Now tonight, we got two political rivals.” He then proceeded to introduce the Democrats’ side, which included Harris (Rudolph), Tim Walz (Jim Gaffigan), Joe Biden (Dana Carvey) and Douglas Emhoff (Andy Samberg). On the Republicans’ side, it was Trump (Johnson), J.D. Vance (Bowen Yang), Donald Trump Jr. (Mikey Day) and a missing Melania Trump. “It’s wonderful to be here, Steve. I love to see a man getting paid millions of dollars at his black job,” Harris says after being introduced by the host, who also pointed out …

Maya Rudolph’s ‘SNL’ Promo Sees Her Emerge From 17 Years of Hiding

Maya Rudolph‘s Saturday Night Live hosting gig appears to be a long time in the making. In this week’s promo for the actress’ upcoming episode, the SNL alum emerges from a Studio 8H closet after 17 years in hiding. SNL castmembers Andrew Dismukes and Chloe Troast find Rudolph in her hiding place, where she sits in a prairie-like outfit and tells them over a bowl of oatmeal, “Oh, hello there! I wasn’t expecting visitors.” The Loot star goes on to tell the shocked comedians she’s been there since 2007 when she left SNL after seven years as a castmember. “Why would I leave? I have everything I need here,” she says, pointing to “my books, my porridge, my dear friend Kenny.” The camera then pans to a mop with googly eyes. When Troast asks, “Aren’t you supposed to be hosting this week?” Rudolph responds, “Oh I am. Would you guys mind closing the door? I’m going to need to freshen up.” At that, Rudolph magically appears via a puff of smoke behind the castmembers, dressed …

Maya Rudolph Is Hiding in a ‘Saturday Night Live’ Closet as She Prepares Her Return to Show in New Promo

Maya Rudolph is returning to the Studio 8H stage in a major way. In a promo ahead of this week’s Saturday Night Live, the actress comes out of an SNL closet after 17 years to host the show with musical guest Vampire Weekend. In the clip, cast members Andrew Dismukes and Chloe Troast are walking the halls of 30 Rock when they suddenly hear strange laughter coming from a closet door.  Upon opening the door, the two discover a surprised Rudolph.  “Oh, hello there. I wasn’t expecting visitors,” the SNL alum says. When asked how long she’s been there, the 51-year-old answers since 2007 — when she ended her tenure at SNL. Rudolph served as a full-time cast member between 2000 and 2007. She previously hosted the sketch show in 2012 and 2021.  “I never left,” Rudolph continues. “Well, why would I leave? I have everything I need here. My books, my porridge, and my dear friend Kenny.” The Bridesmaids star has seemingly been absent from hosting the show for far too long because her …

Dua Lipa Tackles Kendrick Lamar and Drake Beef During ‘Saturday Night Live‘ Hosting Stint

Dua Lipa Tackles Kendrick Lamar and Drake Beef During ‘Saturday Night Live‘ Hosting Stint

Are you confused by the headlines about the ongoing battle of diss tracks between Canadian bra collector Drake and Pulitzer winner Kendrick Lamar? You’re not alone, Dua Lipa suggested as host and musical guest at Saturday Night Live. Portraying a local TV morning show culture critic named Wanda Weems, Lipa tried—and arguably failed—to explain the roots of the dispute using the sort of visual aid one might expect to depict an international conspiracy or the work of a serial killer. The dispute between the former collaborators has been brewing since 2013, when Lamar’s verse in Big Sean’s song “Control” appeared to target Drake, among other members of the music community. Things rapidly escalated last month, when the pair began to trade competing tracks listing grievances against the other, as well as alleging misconduct and other crimes. See how easy that was? Then again, I’m not a staffer at Good Morning Greenville, the fictional local broadcast morning show that SNL sent up in its most recent episode. In the sketch, Mikey Day and Heidi Gardner provide …

‘Saturday Night Live’: Dua Lipa Gets Some Sweet Support From Her Parents in Hosting Debut

Dua Lipa took to the Saturday Night Live stage over the weekend for her hosting debut, and she was feeling the love from two special guests in the crowd. The 28-year-old “Illusion” singer was all smiles as she came out and was greeted with a warm welcome by the Studio 8H audience — which included her parents, Anesa and Dukagjin. “It’s great to be back in 30 Rock. I actually made my US TV debut eight years ago, downstairs on The Tonight Show. So this building does feel a lot like home,” Lipa shared. “And especially tonight, because my parents are here in the audience.” The camera cut to her parents, who were seated in the balcony and looked somewhat shy when suddenly in the spotlight. “As you can see, they’re kind of cool. They love to party,” Lipa continued. “One night, I was out with my friends and we ended up at the club at 3 in the morning. And who do I bump into but my parents!” “Which was embarrassing,” she continued. “Because the last thing you want to see when you’re super high and drunk …

SNL Cold Open Centers on Columbia University’s Handling of Protests

SNL Cold Open Centers on Columbia University’s Handling of Protests

Saturday Night Live‘s latest cold open centered on Columbia University’s handling of the pro-Palestinian protests on campus amid the Israel–Hamas war. During the sketch, Mikey Day, Kenan Thompson and Heidi Gardner played concerned parents of students participating in the protests. Last week, hundreds of demonstrators were arrested after the school’s president called the New York Police Department to help restore order on campus. Police cleared the university’s Hamilton Hall after protesters occupied the administration building earlier in the day. After being asked their thoughts on the protests, Gardner initially responded, “It’s been tough. Now, I’m all for free speech, but I don’t understand what they think they’re accomplishing and that’s really putting a strain on me and my daughter’s relationship.” Thompson later shared his thoughts: “Nothing makes me prouder than young people using their voices to fight for what they believe in.” However, once Michael Longfellow’s Ryan Aper expressed that his daughter must feel very supported by him when protesting, his tone completely changed. “Nah man, you bugging. Alexis Vanessa Roberts better have her butt …

Heidi Gardner Was ‘Very Protective’ of Travis Kelce When He Hosted SNL

Heidi Gardner is opening up about her time with Travis Kelce when he was the Saturday Night Live host in March 2023, following the Kansas City Chiefs winning the Super Bowl. The SNL castmember stopped by Today with Hoda & Jenna on Friday, where she discussed how she initially suggested to Lorne Michaels that Kelce host the sketch comedy series before he made it big, with the hosts joking that Gardner loved him before Taylor Swift did. As a Kansas City, Missouri, native, the comedian told Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager she was “very protective” of the Chiefs tight end. She added, “I asked him questions, which also, as a sports fan, I’m just interested in, but I was like, ‘On game day, what do you eat?’ And he was like, ‘Uncrustables. I’m just pounding Uncrustables.’” On the day of the hosting gig, the Shrinking actress told the morning show hosts that she went to the store and bought a bunch of Uncrustables for Kelce to snack on. “I was like, ‘I want this …

Ryan Gosling, Mikey Day’s Beavis and Butt-Head Attend The Fall Guy Premiere

Ryan Gosling, Mikey Day’s Beavis and Butt-Head Attend The Fall Guy Premiere

It appears Ryan Gosling and Mikey Day reprised their iconic Beavis and Butt-Head characters sooner than fans were likely expecting. The actor was joined by the Saturday Night Live star on Tuesday night at the Los Angeles premiere of Gosling’s latest movie, The Fall Guy. After the Barbie star initially walked the red carpet in a mint-green Gucci suit with his co-star Emily Blunt, Gosling later returned — only this time looking a bit different. Gosling and Day posed for photos as their live-action depictions of Beavis and Butt-Head, the main characters from the hit ’90s adult animated series. Gosling was seen with a blonde wig and blue shirt with words that read, “Death Rock,” and Day had on a gray shirt with the word, “Skull.” The duo first debuted the characters during a sketch on SNL on April 13, when the La La Land actor was hosting the sketch comedy show for the third time. The skit instantly became a hit among fans, garnering more than 13 million views on YouTube alone. In the …
