Robert F. Kennedy Jr. hit back at former President Trump following his “barely coherent” rant on TruthSocial Friday night targeting the Independent presidential candidate. “When frightened men take to social media they risk descending into vitriol, which makes them sound unhinged,” Kennedy said Saturday in a social media post on X. “President Trump’s rant against me is a barely coherent barrage of wild and inaccurate claims that should best be resolved in the American tradition of presidential debate.”  Kennedy’s rebuttal comes as Trump went after the independent White House candidate in a series of TruthSocial posts published on Friday. Former President Trump came out swinging against independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Friday, despite weeks of amping him up over his likely November rival, President Biden. Kennedy Jr. held an Oakland rally to make the big announcement, concluding weeks of speculation by introducing the young political neophyte to the nation and revealing that he may just have found the ideal addition to his long-shot ticket. Nicole Shanahan — criminal justice attorney, Silicon Valley philanthropist, possible billionaire divorcée — is a native of Oakland who may just have the ideal rags-to-riches backstory for a political newcomer. Shanahan has spoken about growing up with a family that relied on food benefits and being raised by a schizophrenic father who had lifelong addiction issues. Independent presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. has yet to confirm a running mate but said on Tuesday that he would never choose someone “based on how much money they have.”  “We, our campaign is one of the principal priorities of our campaign is bringing young people into politics and addressing the deprivation that is now and the hopelessness that is affecting this generation,” Kennedy told NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo on Tuesday.  Over the weekend, the Kennedy campaign suggested that lawyer and investor Nicole Shanahan is among the possible contenders to be the independent candidate’s running mate. Last week, Kennedy’s campaign confirmed to The Hill that New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura were on the vice-president shortlist.  The campaign also told The Hill last week that other possible selections include Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (I-Hawaii), Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), and former presidential candidate Andrew Yang.
