Podsmead regeneration plan set for step forward in Gloucester
Gloucester City councillors could agree to sell eight acres of land to Gloucester City Homes (GCH) to enable an ambitious scheme at Podsmead to go ahead. The development would see the construction of up to 177 new affordable homes as well as new retail, recreation and community facilities along with open space including a park and play area. It is intended that the development would take place over a four-year period, starting early next year. In March 2017 Gloucester City Homes secured funding of £1.25 million from the Government’s Estates Regeneration Fund. This allowed us to consult with both communities, partners and create initial master plans for the regeneration of the Matson and Podsmead estates.
