On Day One, Five Things Trump Will Do With Executive Orders

On Day One, Five Things Trump Will Do With Executive Orders

Authored by Mike Shedlock via MishTalk.com, Executive order drafts are being prepared. Here’s five things to discuss. Five Things Immigration: Trump has said he would reimplement on day one his “Remain in Mexico” policy, which requires asylum seekers to stay in Mexico until their cases are processed by U.S. immigration courts. The Wall: He has also said he would resume construction of the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border—something he repeatedly criticized the Biden administration for failing to continue. Pardons: Fire Jack Smith and pardon Jan. 6 offenders. Trump has called the people facing charges hostages and political prisoners. Climate: Trump has said that he will sign an executive order once again withdrawing the U.S. from the Paris Climate Agreement, the international treaty which implements the objectives of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. President Biden on his first day in office had brought the U.S. back into the Obama-era accord after Trump had pulled out of it in 2019. Officials close to Trump said the order has been drafted and will be ready …

FedEx orders 15 more Workhorse W56 electric delivery vans

FedEx orders 15 more Workhorse W56 electric delivery vans

After a successful pilot program, FedEx is expanding its electric delivery fleet with the purchase of 15 Workhorse W56 electric step vans. Designed specifically to meet the demanding needs of commercial-scale last-mile delivery operations, the Workhorse W56 offers an efficient eAxle electric drivetrain, regenerative braking, and lightweight composite body panels to deliver superior efficiency, lower operational costs, and a reduced air pollution compared to diesel. The company believes these features make the W56 perfectly suited for the kind of stop-and-go delivery routes customers like FedEx, UPS, and (let’s face it) Amazon operate. “FedEx is cultivating a strong roster of electric vehicle models that can meet the demands of our network,” says Pat Donlon, Vice President, Global Vehicles, FedEx. “In joining our fleet, the electric Workhorse W56 will be part of our story as we aim to transition our global parcel pickup and delivery fleet to all zero-tailpipe emissions vehicles by 2040.” That fleet won’t just be cleaner – it’ll be much more efficient. According to the company’s press release, the W56 achieved an impressive 31 MPGe …

Children’s commissioner orders compulsory survey of schools

More from this theme Recent articles The children’s commissioner has used her statutory powers to order every school in England to complete a survey about the support they give pupils and the barriers school leaders face. Dame Rachel de Souza said her school survey, which will run until December 20, aimed to “better understand the role schools play in children’s development”. It will help to shape her recommendations to the government. For example, schools will be asked whether they provide breakfast clubs, food banks or wrap-around childcare, and who pays for such provision. But leaders will also be asked if they have been unable to provide the required support to pupils with additional needs, and about mobile phone policies. ‘We need irrefutable evidence’ Writing for Schools Week, de Souza said the survey was needed because schools were “no longer simply places where children learn”. “If we are to create a school system that is properly resourced and funded to meet the needs of every child, we need a bank of irrefutable evidence about what’s going …

Woman Orders Kids’ Meals 5 Days A Week Because It’s Cheaper Than Buying Groceries

With grocery prices continuing to increase, many people are trying to figure out ways to save money on food. One woman admitted that she uses a rather unusual trick to save herself both money and time when it comes to perusing the aisles of grocery stores to buy food for herself during the week. While not everyone will agree with her methods, it seems to work for her, and may be a good option for many people struggling to keep up with grocery store prices. The woman says she orders kids’ meals five days a week because it’s ‘cheaper than groceries.’ In her video, a woman named Ashley, who doesn’t have children, but describes herself as a “kids’ meal connoisseur” in her TikTok bio, explained that to save herself money she goes to restaurants and orders from their kids’ menus. China’s COMAC to expand Shanghai C919 plane factory as orders grow

BEIJING: China’s COMAC is expanding production facilities for its homegrown C919 jets in Shanghai, according to one of the project contractors, as the state-owned planemaker ramps up manufacturing to fulfil hundreds of new orders. China Aviation Planning and Design Institute (Group) Co. Ltd. AVIC-APC said the project was in Pudong, Shanghai and had a total construction area of 330,000 sq m. COMAC is headquartered in Shanghai. “The completion of the project will meet the future batch production needs of the C919 large passenger aircraft, effectively improving its production efficiency and providing strong support for the commercial operation and market competition of domestically produced big aircraft,” it said. Russia threatens UK military and orders nuclear drills after ‘provocation’ | Russia

Russia threatens UK military and orders nuclear drills after ‘provocation’ | Russia

Russia has threatened to strike British military facilities and ordered its military to hold battlefield nuclear weapons drills in a move the Kremlin described as a response to comments from the French president, Emmanuel Macron, on western troops fighting in Ukraine and from the British foreign secretary, David Cameron, on using British-supplied weapons against Russia. The Russian defence ministry said in a statement that troops from the southern military district would “practise the issues of preparation and use of non-strategic nuclear weapons … in response to provocative statements and threats by certain western officials against the Russian Federation.” The announcement came days after Macron said he would “not rule out” the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine and Cameron said it was up to Kyiv how it used British weapons, including against targets inside of Russia. The UK ambassador, Nigel Casey, and his French counterpart in Moscow were summoned by the Kremlin on Monday. The Russian foreign ministry issued a formal protest to Casey over Cameron’s recent statements that Ukraine had the right to use …
