Teacher Says Students Are Unempathetic And Never Listen

[ad_1] Many teachers, like this one on Reddit, are shocked by how poorly their students treat them.  In this case, despite everything the teacher has recently gone through, losing her voice and returning to the classroom from sick leave, she’d assumed they’d give her a little bit of grace. Instead, they were as rude, disrespectful, and unempathetic as she remembered. The teacher admitted her students are ‘scarily unempathetic’ after she asked for some grace in the classroom while sick.  “Today, my voice was partially gone, and it was a struggle to get any words out. Teacher Says Disrespect From Students Is Worse Than Ever

[ad_1] It’s no surprise that school districts and teachers are struggling post-pandemic — from the whiplash of online to in-person learning to dealing with the emotional burden of teaching children at such a tumultuous time.  With many failing to receive support from their staff, leadership, and community, it’s become almost impossible to make a comfortable living in the profession. The average teacher can afford just 12% of homes for sale within commuting distance of their school, and their salaries are not keeping up with inflation. It’s no wonder they’re finding it difficult to show up as their best selves for their students.  Of course, their students are struggling, too, especially in poor districts where their parents are likely dealing with similar financial burdens.
