Monsters On Netflix: 9 Things We Learned When We Met The Cast

After over a week at the top of Netflix’s most-watched list, and countless pieces written about its content, it’s fair to say the latest season of Ryan Murphy’s true crime series Monsters has really captured the world’s attention. Having already split opinion right down the middle and sparked plenty of debate about its more graphic and salacious scenes, HuffPost UK managed to speak to the cast of The Lyle And Erik Menéndez Story about the making of the show – and its aftermath. Here’s what we learned when we spoke to Cooper Koch, Nicholas Chavez, Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny… The interview took place just days after Cooper Koch visited the Menéndez brothers in prison, which he said had been a ‘crazy experience’ Cooper admitted was “super nervous at first” but his meeting with the Menéndez brothers proved to be a “really amazing” experience. He met with Lyle and Erik Menéndez, as well as a group of other incarcerated individuals, in the prison gymnasium, where the inmates shared their names and stories, and the brothers …

UK weather: Amber warning for heavy rain issued by Met Office – with ‘rivers continuing to rise’ | UK News

An amber warning for heavy rain has been issued by the Met Office – warning of further flooding and travel disruption across large swathes of the UK. The new weather alert covers central England from 6pm on Thursday until 6am on Friday. Nearly three inches of rain could fall over several hours in the worst-affected regions with “rivers continuing to rise after the rain clears”, the Met Office warned. Several yellow weather warnings had already been issued for large parts of the country from 6am on Thursday until 9am on Friday. These include three separate warnings for rain – one covering western parts of Northern Ireland, one in northern England, and another for a large area covering most of England and Wales. Met police ‘using human rights laws to block trooping the colour protest’ | Monarchy

The anti-monarchy campaign group Republic has accused the Metropolitan police of seeking to use human rights legislation to block protests at this weekend’s trooping the colour. In a move it described as “Kafkaesque”, Republic claimed the force has written to it citing the European convention on human rights (ECHR), saying it was using ”the very law designed to protect the right to protest as justification for closing down protest”. Last year, anti-monarchy protesters were arrested before they had a chance to protest at the coronation, on 6 May, which led to criticism of the Met. King Charles will make a high-profile appearance on Saturday to mark the monarch’s official birthday during trooping the colour, which takes place at Horse Guards Parade near Buckingham Palace in central London. Republic, which campaigns for the abolition of the monarchy and its replacement with a directly elected head of state, said 10 days ago it was told by the police that they were “relaxed” and had “no issue with where you want to protest”. While Republic said no final …

UK had its warmest May and spring on record, Met Office figures show | UK News

The UK had its warmest May and spring since records dating back to 1884 began, provisional Met Office figures show. While it was a wet and dull season for many, the Met Office said May’s average mean temperature of 13.1C (55.58F) for the UK beat 2008’s previous record figure of 12.1C. A Met Office spokesperson said: “While it may not have felt like it for many, with sunshine in relatively short supply, provisional figures show May was the warmest on record in our series back to 1884. “This warmth was especially influenced by high overnight temperatures, with the average UK minimum temperature for May 1.2C higher than the previous record. “Rainfall was above average for the UK, while some areas in the South saw over a third more rain than average. In contrast, Northern Ireland and Scotland were slightly drier than average in the month.” Exceptional warmth, both day and night, in Scotland contributed to the UK record – with large areas more than 3.5C above average – shown in dark red below. Kim Kardashian Explains Met Gala Walking ‘Issue’

Kim Kardashian Explains Met Gala Walking ‘Issue’

At this year’s bash, the reality star appeared to have trouble walking ― and breathing ― in her custom Maison Margiela Artisanal gown by John Galliano, which Kim basically confirmed in a video with Vogue. The Skims founder called breathing in her corset “an art form” but said she had a handle on it in the video, released days after the event. Walking proved to be another “issue,” and for good reason. Kim explained that she wore shoes without a heel to make sure her look stayed intact, though it did make it more of a challenge to get up the Met Gala stairs. “It’s clever because if I had a shoe with a heel, the heel gets stuck in the metal skirt. And so that was our issue with walking,” the American Horror Story star explained while holding up the acrylic, heel-less platforms for the camera. “To wear these, you’re on your tiptoes and you’re balancing the whole time flexing your calf muscles,” Kim said. “So that’s what I’m gonna have to do ― …

Prince Harry leaves UK without having met his father or brother in a devastating snub | Royal | News

Prince Harry is jetting off to join Meghan Markle after a fleeting UK visit, amidst Royal Family tensions. The Duke of Sussex has bid farewell to the UK, setting off to reunite with his wife Meghan without having met his father or his brother. Harry is bound for Nigeria, where he and Meghan are scheduled for a tour at the invitation of the West African nation’s chief of defence staff, who Harry encountered last September at the Invictus Games Dusseldorf in Germany. The Duke made headlines in London on Wednesday as he celebrated a decade of the Invictus Games at St Paul’s Cathedral, while just a stone’s throw away, Charles presided over a garden party at Buckingham Palace. However, the King reportedly had no time to meet his son due to a packed schedule of royal duties, as confirmed by a statement earlier this week which highlighted that a father-son rendezvous was off the table owing to the monarch’s crammed calendar. The 39-year-old Duke also missed the chance to catch up with his elder sibling, …

The 31-year-old rapper was one of the many stars who walked the red carpet at the 2024 Met Gala in New York City on Monday. During an interview at the fashion extravaganza with Emma Chamberlain, Cardi B opened up about her voluminous black dress, which she said was made by “an amazing designer” who was “Asian and everything”. Following the event, she was hit with immense criticism for referring to the designer, Sensen Lii, as Asian, withVogue‘s former managing director Gilbert Cheah writing on Instagram that Cardi B should have “remembered” Lii’s name. The “Bodak Yellow” singer then went to her Instagram Story to defend herself and respond to Cheah, acknowledging why she felt so nervous on …
