On Thursday night, one of King Charles III’s most significant legacies was being celebrated at Casa Cipriani in downtown Manhattan, even though the guest of honor was across the pond. In the months after last year’s coronation, the foundation the king started in 1976 changed its name to the King’s Trust, and for the second year in a row, hosts Lionel Richie and Edward Enninful assembled a bi-continental crowd to celebrate its recent expansion into the US. Richie told Vanity Fair he was sad the king couldn’t make it, but they spoke earlier this week. “How happy I am that I can say he is doing fantastic again,” said Richie, who arrived with his partner, Lisa Parigi. “I understand he needs to sit still, you know what I’m saying? Back in January, Sofia Richie Grainge announced that she and her husband, Elliott Grainge, were expecting their first child with a photo shoot in Vogue. Now, four months later, the model and TikTok star is approaching her due date, which she emphasized Thursday with a bare-belly selfie she posted to her Instagram stories, along with a sweaty-face emoji. Lionel Richie had a very special date at The King’s Trust 2024 Global Gala on Thursday – his stunning girlfriend, Lisa Parigi.  The American Idol judge, 74, co-hosted the star-studded event – alongside former British Vogue editor Edward Enninful – and looked thrilled to have his supportive girlfriend, 34, by his side.  Held at Casa Cipriani in New York City, the gala helps raise funds and awareness for The King’s Trust, a charity that helps young people who have faced disadvantage and adversity to better their future through education and employment. Juan Pablo Galavis played the role of a proud dad during Sunday’s final audition episode of American Idol. The Bachelor alum’s 14-year-old daughter, Camila Galavis, auditioned for the ABC music competition and became the youngest contestant on this season.  The freshman in high school introduced her reality star dad, telling judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan, “My dad, he’s a manager in the social media industry because he was on The Bachelor.” After Camila revealed who her famous dad is, Bryan quipped of Juan Pablo, “He’s dreamy!”  Of course, Juan Pablo made a cameo, sitting in on his daughter’s audition. The daughter of former Bachelor star Juan Pablo Galavis is now an American Idol contestant. Camila Galavis, who was 4 when her father starred on the ABC reality show, is now a freshman in high school and auditioned on Sunday night’s episode of the network’s singing competition for judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Camila, who hails from Venezuela, lives in Miami. Asked if she hailed from a musical family, Camila revealed the identify of her dad, who was on hand at the audition.  “You know what it’s like to be on reality television — [are] you trying to throw her in this lion’s den?” Perry asked Juan Pablo, who said it was all her idea.  “She’s been singing since she was little, and the opportunity came, and she wanted to do it,” he said. The American Idol coaches are nothing but thrilled when Reagan Mills walks into the audition room. In ET’s exclusive sneak peek at Sunday’s episode, the 24-year-old hopeful wins over Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie from his very first words, as they are delighted by his high-register Texas accent, with Luke immediately comparing him to the late, great Leslie Jordan. However, when he asks Reagan to say, “Well, sh*t!” like Jordan did, the preacher’s son demurs. “My mom might spank me if I do,” he admits. Lionel Richie is excited about having more grandchildren, but being called “grandpa” has him singing a different tune. The singer told Entertainment Tonight on Monday that he’s “thrilled” his youngest daughter, Sofia Richie Grainge, is expecting a baby girl with her husband, music executive Elliot Grainge. But he has some thoughts about what the child will call him. “I’m Pop-pop,” he said. “We don’t get the ‘grandpa,’ yeah, that’s a little deep. Pop-pop is where we’re going.” Richie is already a grandfather to his daughter Nicole Richie’s kids. The former reality TV star shares two children with her husband, singer Joel Madden.
