Juno YouTube App for Vision Pro Gains New Features in First Update

Juno, developer Christian Selig‘s YouTube app for Apple Vision Pro, has received its first update since launching earlier this month, introducing several user-requested features like the ability to select video quality. Juno automatically selects the quality of videos based on its “best guess,” says Selig, but previously provided no manual control. As of Juno 1.1, however, the UI includes a playback quality option, allowing users to select the resolution of the videos they watch. The video player has also gained quick-access volume controls, allowing users to tweak Juno’s playback volume without affecting the volume level of the whole system. Selig says that he’s looking into ways to link the player’s audio volume to the system volume, which hopefully comes as an option. Another handy addition is the ability to open a video in Juno via Shortcuts or another app. To do so, users can simply replace “http://” in the URL with “juno://” (for example, juno://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7I0vHIWyO4). In addition, when Juno’s video playback controls fade out, the system “grab bar” now also fades out to increase viewer …

Stephen King hails new Juno Temple series: ‘Never seen anything quite like it’

The show, which aired its first season in 2014, was created by screenwriter Noah Hawley based on the Coen Brothers’ 1996 film of the same name. The fifth season, which stars Juno Temple, Jon Hamm and Jennifer Jason Leigh, premiered on 21 November 2023 and concluded earlier this month. Writing on X/Twitter, King wrote: “Who says peak TV is dead? This is amazing, offbeat, and riveting. “Juno Temple and Jennifer Jason Leigh shine. Never seen anything quite like it.” The season follows Temple’s character Dorothy “Dot” Lyon, a seemingly ordinary housewife from Scandia, Minnesota, whose past comes back to haunt her after she accidentally comes to the attention of the authorities when a middle school board meeting goes horribly wrong. Leigh plays Lorraine Lyon, Dot’s wealthy and …

Extreme close-up of Jupiter’s moon Io captured by Juno spacecraft

This image of Io was captured by the Juno spacecraft NASA/SwRI/MSSS We have just had our closest look at Jupiter’s volcanic moon Io for decades, thanks to NASA’s Juno spacecraft, which passed the moon on 30 December. Juno, which has been orbiting Jupiter since 2016, has been taking increasingly close images of Io in recent months as its path around Jupiter changes. This latest image was taken just 1500 kilometres above the moon’s surface. In it, some of Io’s hundreds of towering mountains are visible, which can reach more than 10 kilometres tall, as well as their long, sharp shadows. Io is thought to be the most volcanically active body in the solar system and has hundreds of active volcanoes. These volcanoes tend to be smaller than the largest mountains, averaging only 1 or 2 kilometres in height, and are harder to make out in the image. However, by comparing images and data from Juno’s previous 56 flybys of the moon, astronomers can learn about how these volcanoes have varied over time and why they …

Juno raises millions to provide family-first healthcare from Inglewood to Harlem

Juno raises millions to provide family-first healthcare from Inglewood to Harlem

Even after billions of venture capital raised and invested into the digital health space, it’s still difficult to access quality healthcare. And while that may raise questions on if a scrappy startup has a fighting chance at fixing things, to entrepreneur Akili Hinson, it just means that Juno needs to be even smarter about the neighborhoods it targets. Hinson, Juno’s founder and CEO and a physician by trade, is building a healthcare model that offers in-person care in diverse neighborhoods across the country. The startup’s modern take on a health care visit means that it competes with heavyweights such as One Medical and CityBlock Health. But that hasn’t stopped investors from recently leading a $12 million Series A in the startup, a round co-led by Serena Ventures and NEXT ventures. The proof might be in the focus. Hinson explained that CityBlock Health focuses exclusively on patients who are eligible for Medicaid and Medicare, who tend to be some of the sickest patiences in the healthcare system; while One Medical, on the other end of the …
