The civil lawsuit filed against Jay-Z in December has been dismissed after the rapper had been embroiled in allegations of assault alongside disgraced star Sean “Diddy” Combs. The lawsuit, which alleged that Jay-Z and Diddy assaulted a 13-year-old girl at an after party following the 2000 MTV VMA’s, has now been thrown out in a victory for the father of three.  The judge granted their dismissal request on a technicality, with Jay-Z’s lawyers stating that he could not be prosecuted under the Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act because it came into effect after the alleged attack.  Recommended videoYou may also likeWATCH: Beyonce shares rare family video with Jay-Z He released a statement on Friday following the news, calling the allegations “laughable” and sharing how the ordeal impacted his family.  “Today is a victory. Judge Denies Jay-Z’s Efforts to Dismiss Rape Accuser’s Lawsuit

A judge has denied Jay-Z’s efforts to dismiss a lawsuit accusing the rapper and Sean “Diddy” Combs of raping a 13-year-old girl more than two decades ago. In the lawsuit, originally filed in October, a woman identified only as “Jane Doe” sued Combs for allegedly raping her at a party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. The complaint was amended on Dec. 8 to include the allegation that Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, was also present and participated in the assault. Jay-Z has denied all allegations, and his attorney Alex Spiro sought to dismiss the case after the Alabama woman acknowledged inconsistencies in her allegations in an NBC News report published earlier this month. Spiro doubled down last week, speaking outside Roc Nation’s New York headquarters, saying the rap mogul is upset about the suit and that “Mr. Carter has nothing to do with Mr. Combs’ case.” On Thursday, in her written order, Judge Analisa Torres denied Combs’ hopes to have the suit tossed out. Kendrick Lamar is set to headline the 2025 Apple Music Super Bowl LIX halftime show. Roc Nation, NFL and Apple Music made the announcement on Sunday, and the big game will take place on Feb. 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. It will air on Fox. Lamar previously performed at the hip-hop heavy 2022 halftime show starring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and 50 Cent. All of the performers, along with executive producers Jay-Z and Jesse Collins, won the outstanding live variety special Emmy for the epic performance. Creative direction for Lamar’s upcoming performance will be provided by pgLang, the creative company founded by the rap star and his close collaborator Dave Free, the filmmaker and producer who has directed or co-directed the majority of Lamar’s music videos. “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. Fresh off his father-daughter appearance at the 2024 GRAMMYs, the legendary rapper has been spotted on the field ahead of Super Bowl LVIII with Blue Ivy and Rumi carter.  The “99 Problems” rapper and his daughters were spotted on the field Sunday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas before the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers square off for a shot at the Lombardi Trophy. The family looked super stylish, including Rumi who was seen rocking a Givenchy jacket. Not to be outdone, the rapper also sported his own stylish jacket and his trademark shades.
