Hague told her YouTube viewers on Tuesday (16 April): “I just drove down this little bit of road which has made me have a flashback that happened a couple of days ago. It was the weirdest thing ever and we kind of experienced our first little car crash. “A woman was pulling out of a church car park and there was basically not enough room in the road …

Baltimore bridge crash ship involved in Belgian port collision years earlier, reports say – POLITICO

The container ship that crashed into a Baltimore bridge on Tuesday, causing it to collapse, was previously involved in a collision at a Belgian port in 2016. According to European maritime data service Equasis and other media reports, the Dali struck a stone quay at Antwerp’s port as it was unmooring and leaving for the German port of Bremerhaven, causing “hull damage impairing seaworthiness.” No one was injured, but the ship was detained in Antwerp for repairs. At the time, the ship was owned by Oceanbulk Maritime, a Greek shipping company, before being sold to Singapore-based Grace Ocean a few months later. Early Tuesday, the Singapore-flagged Dali rammed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore in the U.S., sending vehicles and people plunging into the water below. Six construction workers who were on the bridge at the time are missing and presumed dead. Source link

MLB opens investigation after allegations that Shohei Ohtani’s interpreter was involved in gambling scandal

MLB opens investigation after allegations that Shohei Ohtani’s interpreter was involved in gambling scandal

“The Dodgers are aware of media reports and are gathering information. The team can confirm that interpreter Ippei Mizuhara has been terminated. The team has no further comment at this time,” a statement from the team released early Thursday said. The scandal was first reported Wednesday by The Los Angeles Times and ESPN. According to ESPN, the interpreter’s firing came after questions from the media about his alleged ties to illegal gambling. The allegations against Mizuhara centered specifically on wire transfers from Ohtani’s account — totaling at least $4.5 million, made in at least nine payments of $500,000 — to a bookmaking operation in Southern California that is currently under federal investigation and which was allegedly run by Matthew Bowyer of Orange County, California, a person familiar with Ohtani and Mizuhara’s interactions told NBC News. Those wire transfers were sent from Ohtani’s account to an associate of Bowyer’s, the person said. At first, the person said Mizuhara told Ohtani’s personal team that he had been gambling and racked up a large amount of debt, prompting him to ask …

Baldur’s Gate 3: Larian not involved in DLC or sequel says CEO

Baldur’s Gate 3: Larian not involved in DLC or sequel says CEO

Larian Studios will not be involved in any successor or DLC for Baldur’s Gate 3 according to CEO Swen Wicke. In a conversation with GameSpot, Wicke would chat in detail about the success of the Game of the Year-winning role-playing title but would confirm that the studio’s adventures in Faerûn would be at an end, leaving the intellectual property in Wizards of the Coast’s hands. He would say the idea of another installment in any fashion is “literally the opposite of what Larian is about. We want to do big, new things. We don’t want to rehash the thing that we’ve done already.” Larian closes the book on Dungeons and Dragons Wicke would tell GameSpot that the studio’s next title “is not Baldur’s Gate 4, it’s not Dungeons and Dragons (D&D).” “Larian has been built for making big things,” Wicke would say. “Ever since we took our destiny in our own hands and left publishers behind our Meta Critic (rating) has been going up.” He spoke about the organic creative process that Larian had with …

RFK: ‘I don’t think the government should be involved’ in social media, accuses Biden of censorship

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. supported Republican-backed lawsuits against the White House over social media censorship on Tuesday, claiming President Biden also attempted to censor his social media posts. The Supreme Court heard oral arguments for two social media cases Tuesday, which claim the Biden White House illegally coerced social media companies to censor accounts because they were spreading misinformation about COVID-19. “I don’t think the government should be involved,” Kennedy told NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo on Tuesday. “The social media sites are welcome to have programs or processes or community rules with a consensus, but once the government gets involved and the First Amendment is implicated,” things get out of hand, he said. “Social media sites ought to be able to police their sites to take off kiddie porn to take off, advocates of violence or racism or whatever,” he continued. “Once the government gets involved and tells them what to do, then you know, we have a First Amendment problem.” Kennedy also mentioned his own lawsuit against Biden and the White House …

Trump says Putin ‘probably’ involved in Navalny’s death – POLITICO

Navalny, the leading figure in Russia’s beleaguered opposition, died Feb. 16 in a penal colony. The EU and the U.S. directly blamed Russia for Navalny’s death, moving toward imposing new sanctions on the Kremlin. But Trump, who is dominating the Republican presidential primary and currently leads Democratic incumbent Joe Biden in general election polls across multiple key swing states, has so far maintained a soft line on Putin, who has been waging a full-scale invasion of Ukraine for more than two years now. Trump has also repeatedly pledged to stop aid to Ukraine and force Kyiv to the negotiating table with Russia — a stance that is fueling anxiety among Western allies who are wary of a second Trump term. During the interview, Trump said he hopes he won’t have to choose between Putin “swallowing” Ukraine and sending weapons to Kyiv. “I hope it doesn’t come to that,” he said, claiming again that the war “never would have happened” under his presidency. U.S. to investigate fatal Texas crash that may have involved Ford partially automated driving system

DETROIT —  The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating a fatal crash in San Antonio involving a Ford electric vehicle that may have been using a partially automated driving system. The agency said in a statement Friday that a team of investigators from its Office of Highway Safety will travel to Texas and work with police on the Feb. 24 crash on Interstate 10. The NTSB said that preliminary information shows a Ford Mustang Mach-E SUV equipped with the company’s partially automated driving system rear-ended a Honda CR-V that was stopped in one of the highway lanes. Television station KSAT reported that the Mach-E driver told police the Honda was stopped in the middle lane with no lights on before the crash around 9:50 p.m. The 56-year-old driver of the CR-V was killed. “NTSB is investigating this fatal crash due to its continued interest in advanced driver assistance systems and how vehicle operators interact with these technologies,” the agency statement said.
