Ayaan Hirsi Ali, once an avowed atheist and women’s rights activist, made the statements at the inaugural Dissident Dialogues conference held in New York this past weekend (May 3-4, 2024), the Christian Post reports. Ali, who played a major role in the New Atheist movement back in the early 2000s, was part of a panel discussion being hosted by UnHerd’s senior editor, Freddie Sayers. The panel also included famed atheist Richard Dawkins, and the following comments were made during Ali’s discussion with Dawkins. “What you value in Christianity is something that really is absolutely necessary to pass on to the next generation,” Ali said. “And we have failed the next generation by taking away from them that moral framework and telling them it’s nonsense and false. August Berkshire in Response to Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s ‘Conversion’

[ad_1] As you have probably heard by now, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, former Muslim, former atheist, is now calling herself a Christian. Her critique of radical Islam is accurate. She was brutalized when she was young by Islam (female genital mutilation, among other things). She doesn’t mention secular humanist groups, which might have provided that. She also appears to have bought into the religious lie that god-belief is necessary for civilization and to live an ethical life. She also claims “Unlike Islam, Christianity outgrew its dogmatic stage.” Is she unaware of the Christian Nationalist movement? In the end, she appears to have turned to Christianity for emotional reasons. I say this because nowhere does she offer any …

The rather famous political activist recently announced in an article for Unherd.com, that she had converted to Christianity. Prior to her conversion, she had previously been an ardent Muslim and then an atheist. Over the course of her career, Ali has written several books including Heretic: Why Islam needs Reformation Now and Nomad: From Islam to America. She has also received over 16 awards and nominations including Nova Civitas’ Prize of Liberty and was included on Time magazine’s 2005 list of 100 most influential people in the world under its Leaders and Revolutionaries category. In 2006, Reader’s Digest voted her European of the Year. The former Dutch politician was born in Mogadishu, Somalia in 1969. She started off life as a Muslim, attending an all-girls Islamic school in Somalia where she embraced the more extreme facets of Islam being promoted by Saudi Arabian …
