Amy Dowden will not take part in the rest of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing. The professional dancer made a return to the celebrity contest this series after undergoing treatment for breast cancer and had been partnered with JLS star JB Gill. However, the 34-year-old has now had to pull out of the competition due to a foot injury. In a statement on Instagram, she said: “I’m so sad, so upset and asking why me, why now that our journey has been cut short. “My heart right now is breaking having to pull out of the competition due to a foot injury.” Dowden added: “I know only too well ‘this too shall pass’ and I’ll be soon better and back dancing. Phillip Schofield has said he is “heartbroken” by the death of his “magnificent” mother, Pat. In an Instagram post, along side pictures of himself and his mum, the former This Morning presenter said: “I love you mum, forever”, after what he called a “heartbreaking weekend”. He wrote: “Over three days, we held her, loved her, hugged her and said everything that needed to be said.” He said Pat, who was reportedly 88, was “calm, peaceful, beautiful and dignified. I will forever be proud and privileged that she was my mum”. Schofield, 62, added his “magnificent” mother had joined his father, her “beloved Brian”, who died in 2008. The parents of three children who died in a house fire in east London have paid tribute to them, saying: “Your lives were a blessing.” The children died after the blaze broke out in a terraced property in Napier Road, East Ham, just after 8.30am on Saturday 13 July. They have now been named as seven-year-old boy Muhammad Hanan Malik; 11-year-old girl Aayat Malik and 13-year-old boy Nakash Malik.
