Self-Driving Tesla Almost Crashes Head-on Into Police Car

Self-Driving Tesla Almost Crashes Head-on Into Police Car

“Stupid f*****g thing.” Close Call A Tesla owner had a terrifying run-in on May 3 while driving down a country road with his vehicle’s so-called “Full Self-Driving” feature turned on. Dashcam footage from the user, who goes by FixorFkit and shared the video on X-formerly-Twitter, shows the vehicle crossing the median and veering into the opposite lane to avoid a cyclist — just as a cop car was approaching from the other direction. Thanks to a quick intervention, he managed to narrowly avoid a collision. “Stupid fucking thing,” the driver can be heard saying after yanking the steering wheel to stay behind the cyclist. “One of the most horrific drives I had with FSD yet!” FixorFkit wrote. “Important to be alert with FSD. I took over and pulled us back to safety!” The incident highlights the glaring shortcomings of Tesla’s infamous driver assistance software, which regulators have long argued lulls Tesla drivers into a false sense of security — and how a lack of attention could easily lead to a collision in a matter of …

Drunk driver chased through Norfolk maize field before fatal head-on crash | UK | News

A drunk driver has been jailed for 11 years for a fatal head-on crash after he was chased by police through a farmer’s maize field. Desperate to evade police capture, helicopter footage shows Marcin Jablonski driving through 6ft of maize in Norfolk in a stolen Land Rover Defender, leaving a trail as he went. Eventually, the 44-year-old re-emerged onto the A143 at Earsham, Norfolk, but lost control of the car and crashed into a Nissan Juke being driven by 28-year-old Aisatou Mballow-Baldeh. She died at the scene.  Analysis of Jablonski’s urine showed he was at least twice the legal drink-drive limit during the tragic incident on August 13 last year. Jablonski, of Mutfordwood Lane, Carlton Colville, Suffolk, was jailed at Norwich Crown Court for 11 years after pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving, causing death while driving with no insurance, causing death while driving disqualified, aggravated vehicle-taking, and criminal damage. During an investigation, detectives discovered the keys to the Land Rover Defender were stolen during a burglary at a flooring business in Newmarket, …

Footage Shows Dangerous Driver Narrowly Avoiding Head-On Collisions Before Crashing into Hedge

A 63-year-old van driver has been banned for six years after he was seen swerving in and out of lanes on a narrow road, before crashing into a hedge. Police said they found him in the passenger seat, where he told them his “mate” had been driving. Alan Loveridge had already fled the scene of a collision between Chittering and Stretham when he was filmed overtaking a truck on a busy road, forcing oncoming traffic to swerve out of his path, Cambridgeshire police said. Loveridge crashed into a hedge after “knocking a wing mirror off the side of an oncoming Vauxhall Crossland”. “Loveridge showed absolutely no regard for other users by driving in this incredibly dangerous manner,” PC Jake Cross said, adding “he put the lives of others, not to mention himself at risk.” After pleading guilty to dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, and driving without insurance at Cambridge Crown Court on Wednesday, March 13, Loveridge was handed 12-month community order and £500 fine, alongside the six-year driving ban.
