Innovation roadshow set to stop in Fareham, Oxford, Bristol, Guildford and Soton

Innovaction Global is set to host its first ever innovation roadshow this summer. The firm, which advises companies on securing governmental grants to help with the costs of innovation, will be providing free workshops at five stops across the South. They’re open to businesses at any stage of R&D and technology development which regard innovation as their commercial future. First stop is Fareham Innovation Centre, home to 57 technology-led companies and located by Solent Airport at Lee-on-the-Solent near Gosport. Monika Dabrowska, founder and director of Innovaction Global, will be sharing key insights and tips for writing grant applications. Taking place at 10am on Tuesday 14 May, the 90-minute Fareham workshop also looks at how to prepare a successful proposal to Innovate UK – the UK’s national innovation agency which supports business-led innovation across all sectors and technologies. Guildford satellite manufacturer SSTL in funding boost

Guildford-based Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) is set for its facilities to be boosted after reportedly winning a project from UK Space Agency’s flagship Space Clusters Infrastructure Fund (SCIF). The £250,000 investment into the firm will be matched by the company and enhance SSTL’s facilities with a research and development imager cleanroom. READ MORE: UK’s largest satellite testing facility in Oxfordshire welcomes first customers “We’re pleased to have been selected by the UK Space Agency for the Space Cluster Infrastructure Fund,” Philip Brownnett, managing Director of SSTL reportedly said. “By enhancing our optical Research and Development Cleanroom Facility, the new project will help address the growing need for space-based imaging equipment for a wide range of commercial, defence and governmental customers. “This will give a real boost to cutting-edge research into space imaging technology carried out in the UK.” To date, SCIF has awarded £47 million for projects ranging from a space skills centre in Newcastle to a microgravity research centre in Cardiff. Guildford IoT firm Eseye secures £10m growth funding from Virgin Money

Eseye, a Surrey-based provider of tech services for the IoT market, has finalised a £10m funding package with Virgin Money to drive its plans for growth over the coming years. The firm helps to connect IoT devices like smart vending machines and EV charging units to more than 700 mobile networks around the world, with Amazon, Shell Bosch and Costa Coffee among its clients. Eseye is now looking to invest in tech R&D and expand its customer reach internationally, as well as take advantage of upcoming changes in the Global System for Mobile Association’s standards for IoT devices.
