For 13 years, no one has seen or heard from Timmothy Pitzen, an Illinois boy who mysteriously vanished in 2011 – but his loved ones believe he’s still alive and living on a Mormon commune with no access to the outside world or awareness that people are looking for him. Timmothy was just six years old when his mother Amy Fry-Pitzen picked him up from school in May 2011, claiming there was a family emergency. They then embarked on a road trip, visiting zoos and water parks across state lines. At the end of the three days, on May 14, Fry-Pitzen, 43, was found dead in a hotel room. Frannie, my maternal-grandmother and true Southern belle that she was, made rhubarb famous in my family, not only because of how much she loved Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie but because of the way she said it. It became part of my sister’s and my act when we impersonated her as children. With one hand over our hearts and one hand held up as if to stop traffic, we would say the line in unison, “Oh, hon-ney, Frann-ney doesn’t want a thing. I stopped in Merr-reh Est-ah for cau-feh and a piece of straw-berr-eh roo-bahb pie.”   You see, she drove from Mexico Beach, FL to see us in Mobile, AL, and Mary Ester, FL was along her route, about halfway between us. A viral incident in which a grandmother was hoisted into air by a shop’s security shutters has been immortalised in a spray-painted mural. Anne Hughes, 71, was seen standing outside the Best One convenience store in Rhondda Cynon Taf when her coat got stuck in the shutters, and she was lifted 7ft into the air. The moment was caught on CCTV and went viral after it was shared by the shop’s owners on social media. Now it has been immortalised in a mural, spray-painted onto the shutters by graffiti artist, Tee2Sugars. The 33-year-old, from the nearby village of Tonyrefail, said he was asked to paint the piece by those at the store by its owners. “I had seen the video quite early on and my wife and I had both laughed about it. So when I saw the message asking me to paint it I said yes straight away,” he told Sky News. A bereaved woman has said she feels “physically sick” after learning that her grandmother’s body is believed to have been found along with the remains of 34 other people at a Hull funeral home at the centre of a police investigation. The woman said her grandmother was supposed to have been cremated three months ago but she had been told by police last week that what were suspected to be her remains had been recovered along with a name tag at Legacy Independent Funeral Directors in Hull. “I even collected [her] ashes, to be told months later by police she wasn’t even cremated,” she told the Guardian on Wednesday. “I’m disgusted. I feel physically sick.” More than 1,000 grieving relatives have contacted a police hotline set up as part of an investigation into what a senior officer described as a “truly horrific incident” at the funeral home.
