Three Scottish sites have been included in a new list of internationally important geological locations. The Parallel Roads of Glen Roy, the Rum Igneous Complex, and the Barrow Zones have been selected for the International Union of Geological Sciences’ second list of 100 geological heritage sites. As with the first 100, these sites are deemed to be of high scientific value and are the world’s best demonstrations of geological features and processes. “They are the sites of fabulous discoveries of the Earth and its history,” NatureScot explained. It is home to a suite of glacial lake shorelines that informed the development of glacial theory in the 19th century. Dermot Mulroney Reveals the Rom-Com Advice He Gave Glen Powell

Dermot Mulroney Reveals the Rom-Com Advice He Gave Glen Powell

Dermot Mulroney wanted Glen Powell to take rom-coms seriously. In an interview with The New York Times, Mulroney reveals the words of wisdom he imparted on his Anyone But You co-star before filming began. Mulroney’s advice goes back to his own rom-com days, when he starred alongside Julia Roberts in the 1997 flick My Best Friend’s Wedding, which enjoyed great box office success at the time. “I was sitting there ready for the gift with purchase that was supposed to come along with being in a popular movie, and instead, I probably didn’t work for a year,” Mulroney recalls. “I chalked it up to me being so tiny on the poster, the little guy on the cake. I thought, ‘Gosh, you guys, if you’d made me a little bigger, maybe I could have gotten a job.’” So, after the Anyone But You cast watched My Best Friend’s Wedding together all these years later, Mulroney knew just what he wanted to say to the new rom-com’s actor. “I didn’t want him to do what I did, which was minimize how important something is that might …

Glen Powell Finally Addresses Viral Theory About Him And Sydney Sweeney

Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney certainly know how to sell a rom-com. The duo sparked widespread rumours of an on-set romance while filming their movie Anyone But You (2024) and delivered seemingly real flirtation during its promotion. In a new interview with The New York Times, however, Glen confirmed it was all for show — to sell tickets. “The two things that you have to sell a rom-com are fun and chemistry,” he told the outlet. “Sydney and I have a ton of fun together, and we have a ton of effortless chemistry,” Glen continued. “That’s people wanting what’s on the screen off the screen, and sometimes you just have to lean into it a bit — and it worked wonderfully. Sydney is very smart.” Glen Powell at a screening of his new film Hit Man Jason Mendez via Getty Images Sydney was certainly invested in their chemistry as an executive producer and told the Times she was “on every call” about the film with the marketing department. Her playful banter with Glen at CinemaCon …

Glen Powell Credits Sydney Sweeney for Anyone But You Marketing Strategy

Glen Powell is giving credit where credit is due regarding his Anyone But You co-star Sydney Sweeney. In a recent interview with The New York Times, the actor praised the Euphoria star for the role she played in the movie’s marketing strategy to help it become a rom-com genre hit. Sweeney also served as an executive producer on the project. “The two things that you have to sell a rom-com are fun and chemistry. Sydney and I have a ton of fun together, and we have a ton of effortless chemistry,” Powell explained. “That’s people wanting what’s on the screen off the screen, and sometimes you just have to lean into it a bit — and it worked wonderfully. Sydney is very smart.” Anyone But You‘s marketing campaign, which heavily contributed to its box office success, included romantic photos of the film’s leads, longing gazes between the duo on red carpets, flirtatious moments in interviews and viral TikTok videos. Powell and his long-term girlfriend reportedly splitting during the film’s press tour also contributed to romance …

Drive-Away Dolls’ Geraldine Viswanathan: ‘I want to watch people falling in love who don’t look like Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell’

Drive-Away Dolls’ Geraldine Viswanathan: ‘I want to watch people falling in love who don’t look like Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell’

Get our free weekly email for all the latest cinematic news from our film critic Clarisse Loughrey Get our The Life Cinematic email for free Geraldine Viswanathan is a minute or two late for our interview – she completely lost her car. When the 28-year-old star of Cat Person and Ethan Coen’s new film Drive-Away Dolls does appear on our video call, she’s sat in the front seat, laughing, holding her phone camera at a sort of Dutch angle to her face. “I’m in LA so it’s very, you know… A car is a second home,” she says, with a kind of throwaway pithiness. It’s surely an apt enough vantage point as any from which to discuss Drive-Away Dolls, a riotous and pinball-paced road movie directed by half of the former sibling team behind Fargo and The Big Lebowski. In it, her character, Marian, is a bookish lesbian in the throes of a romantic dry spell. Pursued by bungling goons, she drives a rented Dodge Aries from Philadelphia to Tallahassee alongside her friend Jamie, a …

Sydney Sweeney addresses Glen Powell dating rumors in her ‘SNL’ monologue

Sydney Sweeney addresses Glen Powell dating rumors in her ‘SNL’ monologue

Sydney Sweeney addressed a list of rumors about her in her Saturday Night Live monologue, from her mom’s Trump-themed birthday party to the TikTokker who is claiming to be her nutritionist (she’s not). Don’t worry, she also included a Madame Web dig in there. But most importantly, she tackled the accusation that she had a workplace affair with her Anyone But You costar Glen Powell. After she said that “the craziest rumor” she’d seen about herself was “that while I was filming Anyone But You I was having an affair with my costar Glen Powell,” there was an awkward silence from the audience — proving the impact of the gossip. Sweeney went on to declare, “That’s obviously not true,” and gushed about her fiancé who co-produced the film with her. But in a final gag, when it came time to pan to her fiancé in the audience, it was none other than a beaming Powell. “That’s not my fiancé!” she said, “He’s in my dressing room backstage!” That wasn’t the only time Powell showed up …

Stay ahead of the trend in fashion and beyond with our free weekly Lifestyle Edit newsletter Stay ahead of the trend in fashion and beyond with our free weekly Lifestyle Edit newsletter Sydney Sweeney poked fun at one recent rumour that’s been circulating online. On 2 March, the Euphoria star hosted NBC’s Saturday Night Live, accompanying musical guest Kacey Musgraves. Her debut as host of the live comedy special prompted a brutally honest yet lighthearted and hilarious opening monologue where she addressed the speculation about herself and her Anyone But You co-star, Glen Powell. “I am so happy to be here! My name is Sydney Sweeney. You might have seen me in Anyone But You or Euphoria. You definitely did not see me in Madame Web,” she started. Later on, Sweeney noted: “The craziest rumour I’ve is that while I was filming Anyone But You, I was having an affair with my co-star, Glen Powell.” “That’s obviously not true. Me and my fiancé produced the movie together, and he was there the entire shoot,” she …

Sydney Sweeney hosts ‘SNL,’ and Glen Powell makes a cameo

Sydney Sweeney’s debut as “Saturday Night Live” guest host was a smooth one. The star of “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus” showed in sketch after sketch that she could hold her own comedically even if a lot of the material didn’t give her much to work with beyond playing off her sex-symbol public image or one-note stereotype characters. That doesn’t mean the show didn’t have its moments. Maybe it was because of the very-short performances from musical guest Kacey Musgraves, but this week’s episode of “SNL” had a lot of live sketches. Sweeney played a 22-year-old intern who helps the NYPD solve cold cases by being good at social media; she flirted with Air Bud the dog as a high school cheerleader who will date the most popular player on the team no matter the species; a plaintiff on a silly 17-judge courtroom show called “Big Bench”; one of two wedding makeup artists who have bad timing in asking for money and Instagram pics when a groom runs off; and a Hooters waitress who keeps …
