Gibraltar Supreme Court freezes 450M $PLAY tokens in Ready Games legal fight

Gibraltar Supreme Court freezes 450M $PLAY tokens in Ready Games legal fight

Ready Makers Inc. said it won a legal victory against its Ready Maker Ltd. (Gibraltar) subsidiary when the Supreme Court of Gibraltar issued a freeze on Web3 tokens that the subsidiary was going to issue. The order imposed a comprehensive freezing order on February 4, 2025, requiring the preservation of over 450 million $PLAY tokens—representing more than 46% of the token’s maximum circulating supply, Ready Makers Inc. said in a press release. On February 11, 2025 in compliance with that order, over 439 million digital assets were transferred to a court-appointed custodian. The Gibraltar court order targets Ready Maker (Gibraltar) Limited, operating as Play Network, and covers both the 150.4 million tokens claimed by Ready Games and its investors, as well as an additional over 300 million tokens held in Ready Gibraltar’s operational wallets. Ready Makers Inc., founded by David S. Bennahum, said this action builds on Ready Games’ earlier victory in Delaware’s Court of Chancery, which granted a temporary restraining order on January 3, 2025 requiring Ready Gibraltar to restore Ready Games’ access to critical technology infrastructure. Ready Makers Inc.’s legal …

The shameful abandonment of seafarers – POLITICO

The shameful abandonment of seafarers – POLITICO

This is a drama less visually dramatic than the Houthis’ attacks — but it too involves shocking rule-breaking, as an increasing number of sailors are being abandoned by their vessels’ owners, left stuck on board sometimes for months or even years.  And a leading culprit behind this growing abandonment appears to be the similarly growing shadow fleet. On Dec. 18, for example, 11 Indonesian seafarers working on the Sierra Leone-flagged cargo ship Grand Sunny realized the vessel’s owner could no longer be reached, and were left stranded in the Chinese port of Nansha. “We are trying to get food and water to the vessel urgently,” the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) logged on Dec. 19. These sailors have been stuck ever since. Moreover, the ship’s owner, Thousand Star International Ltd., is so tiny, there’s virtually no information about the company. These abandoned Indonesians aren’t the only seafarers trapped on their ships either. In the French port of Lorient, three Georgian seafarers have been stranded on their Tanzania-flagged icebreaker since Dec. 7. “The crew is in …

Shocking moment monkey jumps on to tourist in Gibraltar and opens his rucksack | World | News

TikTok users have been left in fits of giggles over a hilarious video posted online of a tourist being pickpocketed by a cheeky Gibraltarian monkey. In the 17-second clip, a conniving barbary macaque – the chimp the Rock of Gibraltar is famous for – can be seen leaping on to an unsuspecting man from behind. The man, dressed all in black with a blue rucksack freezes, unsure of what his next move should be. After all, this monkey has already shown itself to have scant regard for his personal space. What happens next caused hoards of social media users to wheel out their crying face emojis in the comments section. The monkey, appearing to be searching for something specific, unzips the man’s rucksack and sets about going through the contents. However, the monkey, despite its obvious cunning, didn’t anticipate that there would be a local ranger on the scene to thwart its crime. The ranger, decked out in a no-nonsense black uniform and beanie hat, confronts the primate. The monkey initially doesn’t realise what is …

Police search Gibraltar car park for Royal Navy sailor missing since 1986 | UK News

Detectives investigating the disappearance of a Royal Navy sailor more than 37 years ago are searching a car park in Gibraltar after receiving new information. Simon Parkes, from Bristol, was last seen in December 1986 when the ship he was serving on, HMS Illustrious, was docked in the territory. His disappearance has previously been part of investigations by Hampshire Police into serial killer Allan Grimson, a former petty officer, who was jailed for life for the murder of two young men and who was serving on board the aircraft carrier at the same time as Mr Parkes. Police have previously carried out digs at a cemetery in Gibraltar. Last August they searched the Town Range car park – and now, following “a new line of enquiry”, officers from Hampshire Constabulary have returned there. There were no injuries and no “significant damage” to the ship, which was continuing its journey, according to the statement. The strike on the ship, the M/V Gibraltar Eagle, occurred two hours after another ballistic missile fired toward the southern Red Sea “failed in flight” and missed its target, the statement said. U.S.-led coalition strikes Iran-aligned Houthi militants in Yemen The twin attacks showed the Houthis’ intention and apparent ability to continue their assaults on commercial shipping, days after the United States and Britain began conducting airstrikes against the group aimed at deterring the maritime attacks. Using missiles and drones, the Yemeni militants have carried out more than two dozen assaults in the Red Sea since the beginning of November.
