British Gas, EDF, EOn and Octopus ordered to pay customers £30 into bank account for mistake after new rule
Customers of every major energy company including British Gas, EDF, EOn and OVO as well as Octopus and Scottish Power are being informed how they can get paid £30 if their supplier breaks a new rule introduced this month. Energy ombudsman Ofgem – which sets the price cap energy firms must not exceed for a variable tariff – has introduced a new rule from April 1 which means customers could nab £30 compensation for if it’s not adhered to.
