Eighty-four ziplock bags containing the flyers and a yet-to-be-determined substance were found by residents and reported to police. According to reports, the bags were located on top of cars and on the steps of homes. This is the third case of antisemitic behavior reported in Chicago so far this year. In both February and January, Jewish hate flyers were found on top of dozens of vehicles in the city.

What’s going on with Boeing planes? Safety concerns prompt flyers to change their flights.

Airplane manufacturing giant Boeing is going viral this week for all the wrong reasons. The company’s fleet of commercial airplanes has been rife with safety issues, prompting widespread media attention and mounting concerns from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and flyers. Here’s what you need to know. What is going on with Boeing planes, and what does John Oliver have to do with it? It’s been a turbulent few weeks for Boeing planes, as several aircraft have experienced alarming issues mid-flight — we’ll get into that later — but the company started getting a lot of heat for its insufficient safety protocols after John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight did a brilliant and damning segment on it last week. We’ve embedded the entire video, which is worth a watch. But the TL;DR of the commentary from Oliver: Boeing’s company culture shifted away from safety and quality to increasing shareholder value, which resulted in, well, plummeting safety and quality. Oliver goes through the history of the company in depth, providing context for the recent safety issues. It’s …

Passenger says fellow flyers ‘bounced off the roof’ when plane dove during flight to New Zealand

A passenger aboard a flight from Australia and New Zealand described fellow passengers being thrown from their seats hitting the roof when the plane suddenly plunged, before safely landing at Auckland Airport. At least 50 people were injured Monday after the LATAM Airlines plane experienced a “strong shake,” according to the Chilean airline. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner landed as scheduled and was set to continue to Santiago, Chile, The Associated Press reported. “The plane, unannounced, just dropped. I mean it dropped unlike anything I’ve ever experienced on any kind of minor turbulence, and people were thrown out of their seats, hit the top of the roof of the plane, thrown down the aisles,” Brian Jokat, a passenger, told ABC News in Australia. “Some of the roof panels were broken from people being thrown up and knocking through the plastic roof panels in the aisle ways. And there was blood coming from several people’s heads,” he said. A number of passengers weren’t wearing seatbelts when the flight suddenly dropped. Jokat said he was one of the …

Nico Hischier Scores Twice as Devils Beat Flyers 6-3 Before 70,328 at MetLife Stadium

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Jack Hughes is mentioned so many times when the discussion turns to the New Jersey Devils that many forget about the other No. 1 overall pick on the team and their captain — Nico Hischier. Hischier had two goals and an assist, including the second-fastest tally to start an outdoor game, and Devils never looked back in beating the Philadelphia Flyers 6-3 Saturday night before 70,328 fans at MetLife Stadium. Nathan Bastian also scored twice and Tyler Toffoli and Brendan Smith each had a goal as the Devils won for the third time in four games. Nico Daws made 43 saves in the event that kicked off two consecutive days of hockey at the home of the NFL’s Jets and Giants. The Devils’ third win in four games moved them two points behind Detroit in the race for the second wild card in the Eastern Conference and five behind the Flyers for the third place in the Metropolitan Division. “That was a team we are chasing. Everybody was ready to …
