Jurgen Klopp lets rip at TNT Sports in rant about Liverpool fixtures

Telegraph Sport has been told a number of stakeholders and factors are taken into consideration when it comes to Premier League fixture scheduling, including fans’ travel arrangements, clubs competing in other competitions, broadcast slots and local authority matters including policing. A ban was also introduced three years ago on TNT picking teams for the Saturday 12.30pm slot if they were playing away in the Champions League the Wednesday night beforehand. TNT is also prohibited from selecting a single club for that slot on more than six occasions. Klopp still furious at VAR howler in Liverpool defeat to Tottenham Klopp says he has ‘500 reasons’ for wanting to beat Tottenham this weekend following the controversial meeting of the sides earlier this season. Liverpool were denied a legal Luis Diaz goal in their 2-1 defeat to Spurs in October, VAR failing to communicate correctly that the Colombian was onside. The PGMOL admitted ‘significant human error’ after the audio revealed a shambolic process which failed to inform referee Simon Cooper to give the goal. Klopp remains livid that …

T20 World Cup 2024 fixtures, schedule, groups, results and more – a complete guide

The 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup – formerly, simply the World T20 – is the ninth edition of the tournament in only 17 years and the biggest ever with 20 teams taking part. It is taking place jointly in the Caribbean, for the second time, and the United States which is hosting its first matches in either limited-overs World Cups.   England go into the tournament as defending champions and seeking a third title which would push them ahead of West Indies as the most successful side in T20 World Cup history. England won their first global tournament the last time it was staged in the Caribbean, fighting back from qualifying by the skin of their teeth via a defeat and a washout in the first group stage to win five matches in succession, the last of them a victory over Australia in the final at Kensington Oval which will also host this year’s final in Bridgetown. Having beaten Pakistan in the final at the MCG two years ago to make themselves double reigning …

How do I get tickets for matches? Tickets are still widely available. See the websites of each team for details. England tickets, for example, are available to purchase via EnglandRugby.com. Amy Cokayne, the England front rower, was sent off against Ireland after receiving a second yellow card last week in Edinburgh for head-on-head contact with Scotland’s Lana Skeldon. It spelled the end of the afternoon for the hooker, who had already been sin-binned for a tip tackle on Evie Gallagher in the first half, although England still cruised to 46-0 victory. It was the second time an England player has been sent off in this year’s championship after Sarah Beckett was red-carded for a crocodile roll on Italy’s Michela Sillari in the Red Roses’ opening match. An independent disciplinary committee upheld Cokayne’s red card on Wednesday and warranted a two-week suspension, which was reduced to one week after applying mitigation, meaning she will be eligible for the Red Roses’ crunch match against France in Bordeaux next week. Despite Cokayne’s suspension, England have considerable depth at …

Fixtures, results, final round permutations and table

The 2024 Six Nations enters its final weekend with the championship still on the line. After England beat Ireland in the last round of fixtures it means that a possible four teams can still claim the title.  On ‘Super Saturday’, March 16, England head to France with Scotland facing Ireland in Dublin. It is mathematically possible for any of those teams to win, though Ireland are the heavy favourites with England next best, though very much outsiders. Ireland will be aiming for a second successive title whilst England target their first since 2020.  With Ireland playing first and only needing two points to retain their crown, it is possible that by the time England begin in Lyon, they will be playing to confirm second place. The last time Ireland lost to Scotland was in 2017 and not since 2001 have they beaten Ireland by more than seven points in the Six Nations.  Italy and Wales face off in Cardiff for what is in effect the Wooden Spoon match.  How to watch the 2024 Six Nations …
