Meghan Markle has been urged to stay off Instagram after the majority of Brits said they would rather she not make any more posts, according to a new poll. The Duchess of Sussex welcomed the new year with a big bang after she finally launched a new personal Instagram page with the handle @meghan, which she regularly updated during the first week of January. Meghan’s first post, on January 1, was a short video, namely a reel, which showed her running across a beach and writing ‘2025’ in the wet sand. The video is thought to have been filmed by Prince Harry. The next day, Meghan revealed the new trailer for her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, which is set to be released on March 4. Her third post came five days later, on January 7, when she posted a heartbreaking video tribute to her rescue beagle, Guy, who has now passed away. Tory MP takes hilarious swipe at Ed Miliband as Falklands makes oil discovery | Politics | News

Tory shadow defence minister Mark Francois has taken a swipe at Ed Miliband and called on Britain to “drill baby, drill” after it emerged today that oil fields surrounding the islands are larger than estimated. News today revealed that recoverable reserves of oil near the Falklands are now valued at an eye-watering £74 billion. An independent assessment of the Sea Lion field, within the North Falkland Basin and 136 miles to the north of the archipelago, has pushed up the estimated recoverable oil from 791 million barrels to 917 million barrels, equivalent to double the annual output of the entire North Sea. Rockhopper Exploration, which is the company leading the project, announced plans to extract 532 million barrels initially, reports the Telegraph, up from a previous estimate of 312 million, with most of the remainder potentially recoverable under future plans. Despite Labour’s ban on new oil and gas licences after coming to power, the Falkland Islands government has approved production in a move which illustrates the self-governing territory’s autonomy over its natural resources. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘go against Megxit manifesto’ in Nigeria | Royal | News

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to take a veteran reporter with them on their trip to Nigeria goes against their “Megxit manifesto”, according to royal commentator Kinsey Schofield. Schofield – host of popular podcast To Di For Daily – believes a young, up-and-coming reporter would align with values described on their website after they stepped back from senior working royal duties in 2020. On sussexroyal.com, the couple’s aims say they wish to “engage with grassroots media organisations and young, up-and-coming journalists”. Instead, PEOPLE’s chief foreign correspondent Simon Perry has joined them on the trip, which follows Harry returning to the UK for a few days. Schofield told Daily Express US: “In January of 2020, they announced that they were changing their media strategy to ‘ensure diverse and open access to their work.’ READ MORE: A brutal 10-word rebuttal issued over Harry and Meghan’s three-day Nigeria trip READ MORE: Prince Harry ‘cries for attention’ with one gesture he does 17 times The Duke of Sussex had attended a series of engagements in London in connection …

Prince Harry misses one thing about royal life as expert spots tell-tale sign | Royal | News

Prince Harry is missing being part of the working Royal Family, with one expert claiming his true feelings are given away by one tell-tale sign. The Duke of Sussex spent a few days back in the UK for a visit this week attending events for the Invictus Games, including a special 10th anniversary celebratory service at St Paul’s Cathedral. Crowds gathered outside cheered the Prince on as he entered the cathedral, with shouts of “we love you Harry” being heard as he arrived at the service. Royal expert Tom Quinn told The Mirror that the Duke’s appearance has made him realise what he is missing out on having given up royal duties – meeting the public. He said: “The one part of being a working role that Harry really misses is the chance to meet the public – however insecure he feels as a royal, he has always felt totally secure as a celebrity. “This has its origins in the fact that when he was a teenager, he had to employ a full-time secretary just …
