My coworker’s chewing annoyed me. These saved both of us

My coworker’s chewing annoyed me. These saved both of us

Ever feel like the world is out to get you? Like, you’re already having a crappy day, then your coworker is eating chips super loudly next to you, and you want to rip your hair out in frustration? That was exactly what made me snap. I can’t handle noise like that, and a friend told me to get noise-canceling headphones.  I thought they were a gimmick. I mean, earplugs are way cheaper and do the same thing, right? After trying these JBLs with adaptive noise canceling, I can say they’re definitely way, way better. And they saved my hair (LOL). I saved big with an open-box pair for $89.99 with free shipping (reg. $129.95). These are customer returns being sold at a steep discount, even though they’ve never been worn. World peace? Nah, just me in my JBLs Bringing these JBLs into work felt like my last hope, guys. I put them on their adaptive noise-canceling mode and felt instant relief from the usual office chatter and my desk neighbor’s overly loud chewing (sorry, Lauren). …

WME Agent Apologized to Coworkers for ‘Kill Them All’ Text Message

WME’s Brandt Joel met by Zoom with agents in the motion picture and talent departments to apologize for and clarify the comment that he posted and then removed from an unofficial WME WhatsApp group chat, a source with knowledge of the situation tells The Hollywood Reporter. Joel found himself at the center of scandal on Sunday, when his incendiary text made headlines following news that Israel’s military said it has recovered the bodies of six hostages killed by Hamas militants in Gaza. In an unofficial Jewish affinity group showing solidarity with Israel, WME’s Nancy Josephson and Katie Slater, among others, remarked on the tragedy of the murders. Per screenshots obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Joel then texted in response to the news, “Screw the left kill all.” He deleted the message a few minutes later. Joel told the group this week that he wanted to address what had happened, expressed remorse for what he had done, said he deeply regretted it and holds himself responsible. He said he did this in an emotional and irrational moment …

HR Rep Shares 7 Things Employees Should Never Do In The Workplace

There are a lot of unspoken rules one should follow in the workplace, but not many employees may be aware of them. In fact, they may sometimes break these “rules,” costing them their position in the process. In this way, there are many actions that workers can take in order to be successful in the workplace. However, there are other actions that you should avoid completely. An HR worker shared 7 rules for what employees should avoid doing in the workplace Valerie Rodriguez, who calls herself a “multifaceted corporate girl” on her TikTok bio, offered advice to employees with key takeaways based on her experience working in HR for nearly 10 years. 1. Don’t get too personal with other employees Rodriguez claims that oversharing details about your personal life with your coworkers may pose a problem.  “Sharing too much does not do you any good at any point in your career,” she said. “Especially when you know that you’re trying to move up [and] you’re trying to establish yourself as a reputable person within the …

Teacher Argues That Anyone Happy In Education Is Faking It

Teacher Argues That Anyone Happy In Education Is Faking It

Whenever I tell someone I’m in school to be a teacher, I get the same response: “Wow, that’s such a rewarding job,” or “You have to be a special type of person to do that.”  And they’re not wrong. It is an incredibly rewarding experience that requires a specific type of person. But it can also be incredibly tiring and overwhelming if you don’t find the right balance for yourself. One struggling teacher on Reddit questioned if she was going crazy or if her fellow teachers were all just faking it.  “The other teachers who seemingly have it all together — the lesson planning, the grading, the teaching, the behavior management, the emails, the paperwork,” the teacher wrote in a Reddit post. “Is it all a facade? Am I crazy for feeling like I’m drowning at all times?” “Sometimes I will complain about the overwhelm of this job and I feel like I get blank stares from teachers on my team who seem so dedicated to not being able to relate,” they continued. “I don’t get …

Childfree Woman Called Heartless For Refusing To Give Mother’s Day Off To Her Coworker Who Lost Her Child

A woman has sparked a feud with her coworkers after she refused to donate one of her vacation days to a mother who recently lost her eight-year-old son unexpectedly. She argues that she was planning on using the day in question to catch up on studying for her finals. However, her coworkers are calling her “heartless.” Now, she is wondering if she should have given the vacation day to the grieving mother while she chose another day to take off.  It was her coworker’s first Mother’s Day without her son after his sudden passing.  Sharing her story to the Reddit forum, r/AmITheA–hole, the 22-year-old woman sought the advice of other users regarding the situation. She began her post by revealing that she is a full-time student who works part-time. Last year, one of her coworkers, whom she refers to as “Linda” tragically lost her eight-year-old son in an accident. The loss affected the entire staff. “We were terribly heartbroken because we had met the kid a bunch of times before since she was a single mother and …

Woman’s Co-Workers Turn On Her After She Gets Office Hunk Fired

Woman’s Co-Workers Turn On Her After She Gets Office Hunk Fired

A woman is seeking advice after encountering troubles with her colleagues at work. Until a few months ago, she loved her job and the people she worked with.  However, all of that changed after one male employee, who was dubbed the office “hunk,” began working for the company. Everyone seemed to be fond of him except for her.  The woman soon discovered that her intuition was right and the hunk was a dud. When she decided to take action, her colleagues ridiculed her.   The woman reported her new ‘hunk’ colleague to HR after she noticed illegal activity on his work desk.  The woman’s dilemma was shared on best-selling author Jane Green’s agony aunt column.  “Dear Jane, I’ve been working in the same job for about six years now, and until a few months ago, I was always very lucky to have been blessed with what I thought were great colleagues,” the woman wrote.  nesharm / Canva Pro RELATED: Manager Allows Colleague To Berate His Female Employees & They Blame Him For Not Defending Them — ‘I Messed …

Apple Store Employees Say Coworkers Were Disciplined for Supporting Palestinians

Apple Store Employees Say Coworkers Were Disciplined for Supporting Palestinians

Nearly 300 current and former Apple employees have published an open letter alleging that several retail and corporate employees of the company have been disciplined or “wrongfully terminated” for expressing support for Palestinian people through pins, bracelets, or keffiyeh. The group, which calls itself Apples4Ceasefire, is planning a protest outside Apple’s retail store in Lincoln Park, Chicago, Saturday. In a podcast published last week with media outlet Palestine in America, the group alleges a Palestinian retail employee at that location was wrongly fired for wearing clothing and accessories showing support for Palestinian people. The podcast episode also elaborates on allegations made in the letter, making detailed claims about multiple Apple employees experiencing retaliation from managers. The group’s letter, also released last week, also calls on Apple CEO Tim Cook and other executives to acknowledge the many deaths in Gaza from Israel’s assault on the territory in response to the Hamas attacks of October 7. Cook sent an email to Apple employees two days after Hamas attacked expressing sympathy for those who died or were bereaved, …

Woman’s Co-Worker Sabotaged Her Work For More Than A Decade

Woman’s Co-Worker Sabotaged Her Work For More Than A Decade

At one time or another, most of us have had a co-worker who tried to undermine us at every turn. But what one U.K. woman on Reddit experienced is on a whole other level entirely — one that might require legal action. For over a decade, her co-worker sabotaged her work to make her think she was going insane. Unfortunately, workplace sabotage is very common. A study of marketing and advertising executives, for instance, found that nearly a third had experienced a colleague attempting to undermine them. Workplace bullying is even more prevalent — a 2024 survey found that almost half of workers had either witnessed or experienced bullying at work. RELATED: 10 Ways To Outsmart A Workplace Bully But what this woman experienced goes far beyond being undermined or even bullied. The victimization she was subjected to is downright sick, like something out of a movie. In fact, it’s basically the office version of what happens in the 1940 movie, “Gaslight,”  from which the term “gaslighting” arose. Her co-worker used his IT credentials to hack into her work and change calculations and …
