House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., distorted testimony by Hunter Biden’s friend, Kevin Morris, a wealthy entertainment lawyer who sat for an hours-long deposition, Morris’ attorney claimed in a letter to the committee obtained by HuffPost. Legislators spoke with Morris extensively Thursday as part of the Republican impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, according to the outlet. Morris has loaned millions to the younger Biden, and that financial support “raises ethical and campaign finance concerns for President Joe Biden,” Comer argued in a statement adjoining the interview summary.  Comer characterized the loans as part of a plot “to insulate then-presidential candidate Joe Biden from political liability.” Morris’ lawyer rejected that representation.  “Not two hours after we left Mr. Morris’ transcribed interview, you issued a press statement with cherry‐picked, out of context and totally misleading descriptions of what Mr. Morris said,” Bryan Sullivan wrote. It would be about a bearded, tender-hearted hero, whose partner gives birth just as unprecedented flood waters consume their London home. He’d take them to his parents’s house, on higher ground, but would find only waning food stocks, hysterical crowds, and violent looters. His handsome face would become specked with blood. He would flee, before eventually finding a safe refuge for his wife and child. He, though, would continue onward, making the perilous journey out into a mad, decayed society. All of this does actually take place in The End We Start From. Yet we’re shown it from an entirely different perspective. At an unknown point in the near future, a woman is giving birth. As her contractions start, her home in London is flooded and, as her baby is born, it becomes clear that a climate catastrophe of biblical proportions has begun. A sea of water invades the city as the woman takes her first postpartum, post-apocalyptic pee, then flees for higher ground with her newborn in a car seat. So begins the story of a new survival film starring the British actor Jodie Comer. The End We Start From goes on general release in UK and Irish cinemas from Friday and has a star-studded cast: Benedict Cumberbatch, Joel Fry, Gina McKee, Nina Sosanya and Mark Strong all appear alongside Comer. House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) defended himself Wednesday, claiming it was actually the Biden family who “got played” when Hunter Biden unexpectedly showed up to the committee’s contempt hearing. Hunter Biden took limited questions from Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) before abruptly leaving the hearing, creating a stir among GOP members.  The committee voted to advance a resolution holding him in contempt of Congress over refusing a subpoena to testify behind closed doors last month. Biden previously agreed to testify, but only in public.  “In my opinion, the Bidens are the ones that got played today,” Comer said in a NewsNation interview. “I think that the American people saw the arrogance and entitlement of the president’s son.” The Oversight investigation into the Biden family has centered on allegations that Hunter Biden, as well as the president’s brother James Biden, accepted money in foreign business deals. Jodie Comer stopped her one-woman show Prima Facie on Broadway because of breathing difficulties owing to New York’s air crisis. According to eyewitnesses, the award-winning star of Killing Eve, tipped to win a Tony award this weekend, was 10 minutes late for the matinee performance. After three minutes of the show, she announced that she couldn’t proceed. “I can’t breathe in this air,” she said, before being helped off stage. As reported by Deadline, after Comer left the stage, attendees were told an understudy would be taking over. A spokesperson for the show confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter that Comer “had difficulty breathing due to the poor air quality in New York City”. The city is in the grip of a second day of air difficulties as a result of wildfires in Canada. More than 400 fires are blazing in the country with over 500 firefighters working to put them out.
