The Holiday actor took a step back from acting in 2014 for 10 years but has made her return alongside Jamie Foxx in the Netflix movie Back in Action, which sees the pair play former CIA spies who are pulled back into the profession. During Diaz’s decade of absence, the entertainment industry was rocked by the #MeToo movement in 2017 following the exposure of numerous sexual abuse allegations against high-profile film producer Harvey Weinstein. Diaz remarked in a new interview with the SkipIntro podcast that she has noticed seismic changes in the industry upon her return to acting – namely the environment cultivated on movie sets. “The industry is so different,” she said. “I mean, I definitely have to say that MeToo changed everything.” …

Cameron Diaz says retirement from acting was ‘best 10 years of my life’ | Ents & Arts News

Cameron Diaz has said her decade-long retirement from acting was “the best 10 years of my life”. The actress, 52, has partnered with Jamie Foxx for the Netflix blockbuster Back In Action, marking her first role since playing Miss Hannigan in the 2014 remake of Annie. Speaking on the BBC’s Graham Norton Show alongside Foxx, Diaz said of her temporary retirement: “Oh my God, I loved it. It was the best 10 years of my life.” She said she was “just free” to be a mum, a wife and to live her life somewhat privately. “It was so lovely,” she added, saying that her eventual return to acting “made sense for my family” as they wanted to “switch it up a little bit”. The Hollywood star, whose acting debut came in 1994 hit comedy The Mask, said she had turned down roles for years during her retirement until people “stopped asking” – but added she didn’t want to turn down the role alongside Foxx. Kirk Cameron flees California, citing safety and freedom concerns – OpentheWord.org

Kirk Cameron Credit: YouTube capture/PragerU Former ‘Growing Pains’ actor, Kirk Cameron, has announced he left California for Tennessee, CBN reports Kirk, 53, has lived in California all his life. He has six children and will be joining his sister, Candace Bure who also left California for Tennessee several years back, citing safety concerns for her family as the major reason for the move. In an interview with Fox News, Kirk said the political elite were causing “so much division” and the move to Tennessee was sparked in part by a desire for a “healthy freedom mindset.” He added that since his move, it is nice to “be around like-minded people for safety and for security.” Since his arrival in Tennessee, Kirk added that he has encountered several people from California, and he tells them “Don’t California our Tennessee.” Kirk, a self-professing atheist, became a Christian when he was 17 years old while starring in Fuller House. He left the show as he found his faith in conflict with what was happening on the popular TV …

Cameron, not Farage, destroyed the Conservatives

Cameron, not Farage, destroyed the Conservatives

David Cameron is back from outer space to tell us Nigel Farage wants to destroy the Conservative Party, that he’s playing “dog-whistle” politics and, we can infer, the Tories ought to run a mile from him. Thus the battle lines of the next leadership contest are drawn. Early advantage goes to elites who will say the party wandered too far to the Right – a view endorsed by a billion deadly dull podcasts made by people who think the Today programme is insufficiently subjective. Let’s put this myth to bed so I never have to write this column again. The Tory party is not Right-wing. It won in 2019 when people thought it was Right-wing, that it would implement Brexit, cut immigration and lower taxes. It is losing now thanks to a record of higher taxes, soaring migration and a Brexit you might think had never happened (unless you try to smuggle a dog into Ulster). Moreover, the Tories are not losing to Reform but to Labour, which is pretending to be low-tax and low-immigration. …

David Cameron says UK will not withhold arms sales to Israel | Israel-Gaza war

David Cameron has said the UK will not be withholding arms sales to Israel, saying its position is not comparable with that of the US, which has paused the delivery of a weapons shipment, since the UK is not a large state-to-state arms supplier to Israel. The foreign secretary added that the UK did not support a large-scale invasion of Rafah unless it saw a plan that protects civilians, a position the UK has repeated for the past month. Foreign Office officials said they had no view as to whether Hamas or Israel were closer to the UK position of a two-stage ceasefire, starting with a humanitarian ceasefire and leading to a permanent cessation. They pointed out that Israel claimed the offer accepted by Hamas on Sunday differed from the one Israel had been prepared to accept the week before. Taking questions at the end of a lengthy speech setting out his foreign policy vision after six months in the job, Cameron said: “There’s a very fundamental difference between the US situation and the UK …

Russia summons UK ambassador after Lord Cameron says Ukraine ‘has right’ to strike inside Russia with UK weapons | UK News

Russia has warned that Ukrainian strikes on its territory with UK-supplied weapons could bring retaliatory attacks against British military facilities and equipment on Ukrainian soil or elsewhere. During a trip to Kyiv last week, Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron said Ukraine “absolutely has the right” to strike back at targets inside Russia using British-supplied weapons. Russia’s foreign ministry has responded by summoning the UK’s ambassador to Moscow to “reflect on the inevitable catastrophic consequences of such hostile steps by London”. British ambassador Nigel Casey was called in for a formal protest, as Russia’s foreign ministry said Lord Cameron’s remarks recognised that Britain – which has given Ukraine billions of pounds worth of weapons to defend itself in the war against Russia – was now de-facto a part of the conflict. James Cameron and Ari Emanuel Offer Support of Skydance-Paramount Bid

James Cameron and Ari Emanuel Offer Support of Skydance-Paramount Bid

Both James Cameron and Ari Emanuel offered their support this weekend of Skydance‘s bid to acquire Paramount. Though reports earlier this week suggested that Paramount’s special board committee was leaning against accepting Skydance’s offer, Cameron and Emanuel told The Financial Times on Sunday that they supported Skydance founder David Ellison’s potential leadership. The deal, first offered during a 30-day exclusive negotiating window at the beginning of April, would see Skydance, joined by financial partners RedBird Capital and KKIR, acquire controlling shareholder Shari Redstone’s stake in the company and then merge Skydance into Paramount, keeping it as a publicly traded company, with new leadership at the helm. “I love the Ellison idea,” Cameron, whose 1997 film Titanic remains one of Paramount’s most successful movies, said. “If he gets . . . to run Paramount creatively, it could be a huge boon for this business in these ailing times. David’s proven himself.” Emanuel, Endeavor CEO, also saw promise in Ellison’s vision, calling him “a natural acquirer” of the company. “David has a real movie business [with] big franchises,” he said. “Everybody is …

KYIV — British Foreign Secretary David Cameron announced that Britain has given Ukraine permission to strike targets on Russian territory with the weapons in a new $3 billion multiyear aid package it is providing. Kremlin accuses David Cameron of ‘direct escalation’ over weapons for Kyiv

Moscow has accused David Cameron’s of a “direct escalation” after the foreign secretary said Ukraine can use British weapons to strike targets inside Russia. “The Kremlin considers British foreign minister David Cameron’s statement about Kyiv’s right to use British weapons to attack Russian targets dangerous,” Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesman, has said. “This is a direct escalation of tensions around the Ukrainian conflict, which could potentially pose a danger to European security.” Lord Cameron earlier promised £3 billion of annual military aid to support Ukraine for “as long as it takes”, adding that Britain had no objection to its weapons being used inside Russia. “Ukraine has that right. Just as Russia is striking inside Ukraine, you can quite understand why Ukraine feels the need to make sure it’s defending itself,” he said. His comments put Britain on a more hawkish footing towards Russia – at least publicly – than the United States, which stipulates that any weapons it supplies to Ukraine should only be used within Ukraine’s internationally-recognised borders rather than against targets inside Russia …
