Rachel Brosnahan Teases Her ‘Feisty’ Lois Lane in ‘Superman: Legacy’ (Exclusive)

Rachel Brosnahan is teasing what fans can expect of her Lois Lane in James Gunn‘s upcoming Superman: Legacy film.  While speaking with ET’s Deidre Behar on the carpet at the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday, the 33-year-old House of Cards alum described her iteration of the iconic comic book character in three words.  “Feisty, dare I say, marvelous, and fiercely intelligent,” Brosnahan, who appeared at the CCAs as a nominee for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, said.  It was announced back in June that the Emmy-winning actress would take on the role of the Daily Planet journalist after months of speculation that she was in the audition process for the part. She confirmed the news herself in an Instagram post, sharing a screenshot announcing her casting alongside David Corenswet, who will play Clark Kent.  “????…✈️…????????????????????????????????” she posted alongside a screenshot of an article detailing the casting, clearly stunned beyond words.  As for how things are going on set, the actress said she has to remain tight-lipped for the time being but that she is excited to contribute …

David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan are set to take on the roles of Superman and Lois Lane in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy. Corenswet is best known for his roles in the Ryan Murphy shows Hollywood and The Politician and starring in 2022 horror prequel Pearl. Brosnahan has won an Emmy for her performance in Amazon’s period comedy The Marvelous Mrs Maisel and has also appeared in House of Cards and I’m Your Woman. The announcement follows weeks of speculation, with the pair up against competitors such as Nicholas Hoult and Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dyvenor. It’s reported that screen tests involved the male actors dressing up in Superman’s outfit. The news comes just before a potential Sag-Aftra strike which could potentially begin on 30 June if negotiations fail to result in a deal. The film will be the beginning of a new DC universe led by Gunn, who directed the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy for Marvel. Gunn co-leads the new DC Studios with producer Peter Safran.
