A block on the social media platform X in Brazil came into effect early Saturday after the Brazilian Supreme Court ordered its suspension following a months-long standoff with Elon Musk over disinformation. X shut down its business operations in Brazil earlier this month rather than obey an order from the judge to block dozens of accounts being investigated over fake news or hate speech, an order Musk denounced as censorship. It involved a video of a Jewish politician helping carve blocks necessary for the temple’s construction, Israel365 News reports. Jesus prophesied the destruction of the Jewish Temple by the Romans in 70 AD, while the Lord and the disciples were visiting the temple. “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down,” Jesus said (Matthew 24:12). Since its destruction, there has been an interest in building a third temple among orthodox Jews and also from Christians, who believe that this would be a fulfillment of the end-times prophecy (Revelation 11:1-2). Toilet blocks at a council run Traveller site have allegedly been used to hide guns, Bolton town hall has said. The authority will this week make an application to the courts for a closure order to prohibit access to Crompton Lodge caravan park following a series of alleged incidents. Greater Manchester Police said recent alleged incidents include – firearms and ammo being seized; stolen vehicles and motor parts being recovered; violent offences against staff; stolen dogs being found; cannabis seized and cannabis production evidence being found; plant machinery found; ‘large scale’ incidents of disorder and ‘violence with injury’; criminal damage; fly-tipping; and knife-point robberies. The council and police said the site, in the Moses Gate area of Bolton, which is owned and managed by the local authority, has seen a significant increase in alleged criminal activity and threatening behaviour in recent months. They said alleged incidents involving drugs, serious violent crime and firearms mean the site is no longer safe for residents, including families and young children, visiting council staff or other agencies. The United States House of Representatives has voted overwhelmingly to defeat an effort by Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene to remove Speaker Mike Johnson, a fellow Republican. In an unusual move, Democrats joined Republicans in a 359-43 vote on Wednesday to keep Johnson in his leadership role and stave off further turmoil in the House. “I appreciate the show of confidence from my colleagues to defeat this misguided effort,” Johnson said following the vote. “Hopefully this is the end of the character assassination that has characterised the current Congress.” Hardline Representative Greene has, for weeks, sought to get Johnson kicked out after a string of compromises he made with Democrats over a $95bn bill for security assistance to US allies Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. A protest mob has blocked a coach sent to collect migrants bound for the Bibby Stockholm barge. At least 12 people are blocking the coach in Peckham this morning surrounding it on all sides. It is believed the coach was set to collect eight asylum seekers living at a Best Western hotel in south east London, who had been told they would be collected on Thursday morning.  The intervention is partly organised by SOAS Detainee Support, linked to the London University. It posted on X: “Comrades have stopped our friends being taken to the Bibby barge – but more numbers needed! We’ve also learned the coach is meant to be taking people from three other hotels en route.” The latest developments comes as 711 people were detected crossing the English Channel on Wednesday, the highest number on a single day so far this year. A federal court on Tuesday blocked Louisiana from using a congressional map signed into law this year that had been redrawn to include a second majority-Black district. In a 2-1 vote, the three-judge panel of the U.S. District Court in Monroe, Louisiana, found that Senate Bill 8, which provided for the redistricting of congressional districts in the state, violated a clause in the 14th Amendment that ensures equal protection under the Constitution. The case is likely to end up before the Supreme Court in another test of the Voting Rights Act. “Having considered the testimony and evidence at trial, the arguments of counsel, and the applicable law, we conclude that District 6 of SB8 violates the Equal Protection Clause,” District Judges Robert R. Summerhays and David C. Joseph, both appointees of former President Donald Trump, wrote in the court’s opinion.
