An employee admitted that he was baffled after his boss both reprimanded him for and refused to let him use his PTO.  Posting to the subreddit “r/AmITheJerk” — an online public forum where individuals can share either personal anecdotes or conflicts that have happened to other people to see who was in the wrong — the 20-year-old man claimed that he and his boss, Susan, were involved in a bit of an argument after she told him that his PTO request was “last minute” after he’d already booked his vacation days. People are struggling with incredible financial and socio-economic burdens today despite having full-time jobs, college degrees, and professional certifications. A British man’s conflict with his American manager has left scores of people on TikTok rolling their eyes. A restaurant has come under fire after mandating that their servers make a certain amount of tips or risk being publicly reprimanded. In a TikTok video, a content creator who goes by the username @officialbw and makes content about the restaurant industry shared one of the worst restaurant policies he’s ever seen.  The restaurant created a ‘wall of shame’ where servers are reprimanded for not getting 20% tips from customers. The man explained that a restaurant in Florida, which he generously didn’t name, has a mandate where all of the servers are required to make at least 20% tip averages. If they don’t, the servers end up on what is called the “wall of shame” and risk losing out on shifts. The TikToker showed a photo of the wall, where the names of the servers were written with the percentage of tips they’d made next to them. A boss has come under scrutiny after attempting to dissuade an employee from using his approved time off because of an unexpected staff shortage. In a TikTok video, content creator and business expert Michael Sanz, who often posts career tips, shared a conversation between a boss and his employee that elicited a strong reaction from viewers. After a coworker resigned, the boss tried to cancel an employee’s approved PTO because they needed ‘all hands on deck.’ “You will not believe this message I’ve just been sent,” Sanz incredulously began in his video.
