Earlier this month, we reported about some iPhone users temporarily losing all of their notes in the Notes app after accepting Apple’s updated iCloud terms and conditions. Apple has now indirectly acknowledged this issue in a new support document that outlines steps to follow if your iCloud notes are not appearing on your iPhone, iPad, or Vision Pro. Fortunately, the notes can be re-synced from iCloud. Apple’s steps are pretty much identical to the ones we shared earlier this month: If your iCloud notes aren’t appearing on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Vision Pro, follow these steps. 1. Open the Settings app and tap your name.2. Tap iCloud, then tap Notes.3. Make sure Sync this [device] is on, then check the Notes app.4. If you still don’t see your notes, restart your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Vision Pro. After restarting, check your settings again. Chinese fishing boats started swarming the Scarborough Shoal in the South China Sea in mid May. Some had already been drifting around the picturesque reef in the Philippines exclusive economic zone for some time. However, the Chinese boats were not regular fishing vessels, and they weren’t there to fish. They were there to counter a Philippine aid flotilla aiming to deliver supplies to fishers near the disputed shoal. In the end, the aid flotilla turned back before it reached the shoal. The Chinese vessels were part of a maritime militia, a shadowy armada whose existence Beijing rarely acknowledges and that it has long used to help hold or take disputed territory it says it owns in the region. The militia has a long history in the area. Its key role in seizing Scarborough Shoal in 2012 set off one of the most high-profile territorial disputes in the South China Sea.
