Barry Ross has been announced as the new MD of Oxfordshire-based Crossland Employment Solicitors, with former MD Beverley Sunderland continuing on as partner. Barry joined Crossland in 2011 and became a director in 2017. Alongside his latest promotion, Maria Hoeritzauer and Owen Dear have been named directors, while Kevin Charles will remain as consulting barrister. Crossland transitioned to employee ownership in 2021 and has continued to thrive since. All four of its partners, as well as Kevin, were recognised as experts in the latest Legal 500 and Chambers UK guides. Coventry site acquired by Abingdon’s Roadside Real Estate

Oxfordshire-based Roadside Real Estate has acquired a new asset on the A444 near Coventry as part of its joint venture with Meadow Partners. The 8.25-acre site was bought for £3.26 million and currently features a 72,091 sq ft former Sainsbury’s food store, vehicle filling station, and 407-space customer car park. Roadside sees potential for an EV charging hub, with options at the rear of the property for retail or last mile logistics. RM plc, the Abingdon-headquartered supplier of technology and resources to the education sector, reported it was in an improved financial and operational position following a fundamental review of the business. Reporting its results for the 12 months to end-November, 2023, the edtech group said its consortium business ceased trading in December last year following losses of around £10 million in fiscal 2023. A newly simplified business will focus on end customers: learners, educators, and accreditors, the company said, adding that it aimed to build a Global Accreditation Platform to take advantage of the education transformation towards fully on-screen examinations. A roadmap of the company’s developed IP, products and solutions had been delivered to accreditors, educators and directly to learners, it added.
