Maritime UK Solent is celebrating a major cash injection for the region’s businesses in their mission to develop green technologies for a more sustainable future.
The government’s Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition (CMDC4) considered 33 project applications from across the UK – 12 of which are based in the Solent, representing 24 per cent of the total £33 million available.
Working alongside government officials and Innovate UK, MUK Solent encouraged its maritime network of more than 900 organisations to explore opportunities during this fourth round of funding.
Among the clean technologies they put forward were electric, hydrogen, ammonia, methanol and wind power.
